“I talked to Cai today." She starts off, biting the lower part of her lip. "Gave him a piece of my mind.”
My scrambling stops and I look at her, concern and worry flashing behind my eyes. Not because I'm worried about Cai. Rather, I'm concerned about Fae. It's hard to make her snap but when she does, it's like game over. I just don't want to hear her beating the hell out of anyone. The girl took all sorts of martial arts ever since she was five. So if a fight had to break, she knows what she's doing. So far, she hasn't shown any signs so I doubt she did anything. But just to be sure, I still ask with hesitancy lacing my tone. “Did you hit him?”
