Kaye’s POV
It was starting to get dark. I had already finished my homework by the time mom and dad returned.
Lately, they’ve been really busy. Traveling overseas for business meetings.
I rarely ever see them now.
There’s been changes however.
Mom’s gained a couple of pounds from what I can see. And dad’s been awfully gentle with her.
I slip out the house to buy a couple of items. My parents have already retired to bed.
Not wanting to disturb them, I left without saying anything.
The sky shows signs of rain. The moon’s practically hidden behind bushy clouds that hold the shade of grey.
I’m wearing a grey hoodie. As I walk down the path, I slide my fingers inside the warmth of my pockets.
It’s bad enough that I’m wearing shorts.
All day, I’ve been craving for some ice cream. I
