The food arrived in under an hour. Which was a shock to me considering she ordered enough food to feed an army. Everyone began taking out containers and laying them around the table.
“Dig in,” Ali smiled, handing plates to everyone.
It all looked and smelled amazing except for this one pasta dish that was lathered in a green chunky sauce. Everyone took a seat and continued talking. I pushed around my food, not sure why my appetite had disappeared.
“Here,” Nona, handed me what looked like a golden wrapped candy, “it’s ginger. I made it into a treat to help with nausea. It’s safe for pregnancy’s”
“Thank you,” I smiled, opening it and chewing it quickly.
“Of course. Let me know if it works for you and I can get you more”
At the same time we both reached for the parmesan and giggled.
