I Wish There was an Easier Way

MING LI'S POV

I can't understand what's all this about a Canadian Nature Photographer that's got everyone off their game. Her trained eye's makes anyone who sees her photos feel like they're there with her, me included.

There's two feats happening in the industry, I don't know what's better. One, that director Guo got the photographer who doesn't bend for a price to work with talent, not that I blame her for not wanting to work with the prideful. Or two, we're the one company that will start her aboard career as a photographer. Does she only speak English? Or did director Guo give her enough time to learn the basics of the written form of one of our mainland languages? I'm a bit curious on her looks and what she think about style. I could help her if it doesn't show her value like some of big brother. Should I fear she goes down the wrong path with bad people?

Wait... Why should I worry about what I haven't involved myself in yet? I don't even know if I'll do any of the stuff I just thought about now. She's not even here yet, and I already started feeling familiar to her. I don't even know if she liked people, hates them or is just a major flirt!? What if our laws are imposed on her? It hasn't been too long since the last outsiders has been made public about marriage and age and born rate. If she's thing like me, they'll be against her when she's outed.

I see long fingers weaving in front of my face before seeing the annoyed face of director Guo whose glasses makes his jaw seem pointy. He's always wearing 3 piece suits, even in summer. No one can tell he has tattoos from a former living, only found out while bathing at the same hot springs as him. I have enough problems without him being what I saw then. "Oh, good morning director Guo, I guess my mind was somewhere else. What can I do for you?" I say nicely. "Wishing my assistant spoke more like you" he said jokingly then continued with a died-pan expression "Could you help your boyfriend from messing up his lines? I'd like that!" My face dropped to the horror that the director knew our on- again off again relationship and can't tell if he's messing with me or not. He spots my reaction "I was just kidding about the boyfriend but do help him since he's stressing me out." I just our breakup hasn't been found out and I now have to find this stupid ex of mine! "So where is Wen Laoshi?" Guo points to where he could be.

Why does he want to play a lovesick puppy when he's anything but that? Not even with me, but working with lines is in my wheelhouse. I see him snapping with my manger about something I can't quite hear. I get to them winded as I hear what I shouldn't. "Are you just amusing, working for someone like him and you got the guts to tell me that he WhAt? Oh yes, he cares so much!? Let me in his changing room! I'm not asking anymore!" My manger struggles to speak as I can't take this public display anymore. I opened up my changing room to see another talent pretending to be me while kissing a girl I only met and I say "Hmm, Qi Zong why are you bringing a girl to my changing room during work hour?" he and the girl looked speechless and the two fighting outside my changing room had stopped. "Ming Li, it wasn't like that... she's a... " he gave up explaining over seeing Xiao Wen and my manger who were angry, staring at Qi Zong yet I'm feeling like I'm boil like a pot of water. What will I do with two cats with 2 tails? "I guess you like her enough to be clinging to each other, but not enough to not affect others!" I shocked the two behind me when I looked at them for making a scene in front of my changing room. "Do you two have anything to say? Why didn't you check before this mess?" Xiao Wen looked shy and my manger cleaned her glasses before both said "I didn't want you to be exposed!!" They've been fighting a lot since the breakup, but I am tired of them being surprised of being in-sink with each other. 'This stupid couple!!' I swore in my heart.

I never looked at girls in any special since I was young while dating them to distract their attention from the 'friends' I'd have sleepovers with. To think when Xiao Wen isn't with me, he's messing with some girl who'd be happier else where with someone else. I really look like a jellyfish, yet I've seen him in a happy relationship. I have them all sit on my fall leaves patten sofa and close the door behind and then sit on a chair opposite to them. "Qi Zong, I don't care what you're thing with this lovely lady that you made her look like that" I gesture to how rosy she is with kiss and love makes. Xiao Wen asked "Why is he in your room when I can't be in here without?" arms crossed as he stares daggers at me. "First, you have your own and second, his job is to pretend to be me for the public, and you? Why did you want in, in the first place?" I ask as if I don't know. To put the nail in the coffin "I'm glad today of all day you decided to fight like a couple, she's not a bad catch." He stormed out without explaining and before he was at a distance that he couldn't hear me. "Director Guo told me to help with your lines, do you still want help from someone like me?" He stopped and then got in close to me enough for no one but me to hear what he said next.
