Chapter 3

“Let’s go outside.” And I just heard door close.

I sighed.

I fell asleep completely.

“Edward please… Dont leave us!” I was playing with my dolls when I heard my mom shouting my Dad’s name. I first left my doll by the pool and went to the living room, I hide beside the couch. It’s not enough to see me.

I can see dad clenching his fists, and mom always trying to touch his hand. But Dad always pushes Mom”s hand away.

My eyes widened even more when I saw Dad holding a luggage.

Wait…

Is he going to leave us? I immediately felt nervousness and fear in my chest, even though I am just 13 years old but still I know what’s happening.

Unaware of my tears, I looked at my sister by the pool who was happily playing with dolls. Actually I was playing with her, we didn’t play with my dolls then. I was saddened by how happy my brother was unaware of what was happening.

My poor little sister, Sherina. She’s just 5 years old.

“That’s enough Shanaya! Leave me alone!” Dad shouted, I looked at mom She looks misirable. My mommy is not like that, Mom is happy and always smiling. It was my first time seeing her like that, I felt my heart aching. I’m hurting too.

“But why?! How are our children Edward!”

“I will still support our daughters Shanaya but not you.” Mommy continued to moan, If I could embrace all the pain that mommy was shouldering right now, I would. I can see how much mom is hurt by every word Dad utters.

I know, since then Dad has had no one to mediate between them. I can see mommy really loves dad. But not my Dad, dad loves me and Sherina.

It’s like the two of them are just coming together because of my brother and me.

“Edward please. I can’t, I love you so much don’t be like this.” I covered my mouth when mommy knelt down in front of Dad, but Dad seemed to have no use.

“Stand there Shanaya! You know from the beginning there’s no rule between us! So you can just let me go!”

“No! I wont!”

“I will file an annulment Shanaya.”

“Please don’t be like this Edward, it’s okay don’t be with me anymore. Just stay here and don’t leave even for the kids. Please I’m begging you …”

“Shanaya, you know you’re the one who likes it from the beginning. You broke the relationship with the woman I loved back then, just because of your lustful desires and when you were selfish I didn’t get along with the woman I love! You broke everything!”

I was swallowed up, so all this time mommy and daddy are just fixed marriage?

I thought I have a happy and complete family but why is it suddenly like this?

“I only did that thing because I love you so much Edward!” I felt relieved when mom stood up.

“Do you love me?! You’re only thinking about yourself! How can I be happy?! You know I’ve never been happy with you! I never loved you Shanaya, and until now I only wanted one woman . ”

The needle kept piercing my heart. The family I thought was happy to the end but it didn’t end tragically right away.

“How about our daughters? Will you trade them for Claire?!”

“I’m going to trade you, not our children.” I saw my mommy”s world crumble at what Dad said.

I went out of hiding and ran to mom, I saw their eyes widened especially dad.

“S-shaina…” but I just sharply gave Dad a bad look.

He’s so bad! I immediately hugged mommy who was crying.

“I-its not what you think daughter.” Dad’s voice trembled.

“Your selfish Daddy! What’s wrong with you! You’re going to trade us for your woman!”

“N-no, Sha listen to daddy first.” he tried to hold my hand but I just pulled it off.

“Don’t touch me!” I shouted when he touched me.

I felt mommy hug me crying.

“Sha, let Daddy explain please…”

“I don’t want to hear your explanation dad. I hate you!”

I felt tears on my cheeks when I woke up.

I dream of it again. That dream seems to haunt me every day!

Fck!

I looked at my bedside table and it was only six in the morning. I’m pretty sure my friends are awake because like me they have jobs too.

Even though I’m feeling depressed, I still forced myself to get up, I went to the bathroom and started to take a bath. I saw Alyana still asleep.

After 10 mins of bathing, I put on my scrub suit, tied my hair and just applied a little powder and lip gloss.

I grabbed my shoulder bag first before putting on my white shoes. Then I went down.

“Come on! Moonstone is on the Good morning show!” I heard Joyce scream when I got down, I peeked at what they were watching and it was true. Their band Chaos is on tv.

“Sha! They look Chaos!” I didn’t look back at Joy who also looked thrilled and went straight to the kitchen. I caught Scarlet cooking.

“Eat it Sha, I cooked a hotdog and fried some.” I smiled at Scarlet.

I settled myself down and started to spoon.

“So to whom did you dedicate your song, Chaos?” I can’t help but hear, how come the TV volume is 100!

“Guys please turn down the tv!” I shouted but they didn’t seem to hear anything, instead I heard their screams.

Oh God!

I didn”t even hear Chaos answer the question because of their shouting . I shook my head and started eating.

“That’s for Shaina right?” I heard Rhea.

“Yeah gurls! Obviously! they’re Sha’s sweethearts aren’t they?” I was almost taken aback by what Joyce said

“Are you okay Sha?” Scarlet reached for the water for me.

“I’m fine. Thank you.” Then i drink the water.

What the fck! Senior highschool sweetheart?we weren’t!

I finished my meal, they were when I left but I just let them go.

They think what they think, they take care of their lives.

It’s very Traffic that’s why I can’t avoid a billboard that seems to be intentional and I can really see it.

“What’s so cute about that?” I asked myself while staring at his billboard, it looks like he is endorsing a bench brief. Fck! Yes, he just had a brief!

I can see how he bites his red and thin lips, I can also see his eight furious abs.

That’s why I’m thankful that the cars are up and running! I was feeling suddenly hot so I turned on the aircon in case it went off.

It’s November so you can’t say it’s hot, Christmas is near so I feel like it must be cold.

Goodness!

There was no one in the office when I arrived, I remembered Jill’s shift this time. I saw something strange on my desk.

I sat down first before staring at it.

A Tupperware, I open it and I see a choco butternut that is obviously still hot.

I read the note on the cover.

Really feeling that man! Maybe he won’t see if I eat, right? Choco butternut is my weakness! So even though I didn’t want to be with him, I ate it.

MY DAY is OVER with no taxpayers, that’s why my day is over. I am also happy because Thirdy is also happy now.

I was about to close the elevator when someone stopped it and looked like I was still out of breath.

“I’m fine.” He responded happily and entered, like me he also hit the ground floor where the parking lot is.

“Thank you…” He looked at my scrub suit, as if looking at my name tag.

“Nurse Shaina.” He said smilingly, I can see his white teeth. he was wearing a lab gown and had a stethoscope around his neck. Why does it seem like I just saw him here?

I just nodded at him, we were the only two here in the elevator and we were on the 6th floor. We ate silence but I could feel what he had been looking at for a while.

“You’re a Pediatric Nurse?” He asked, I nodded.

“Nice, I’m Physician, it looks like I just saw you here?”

“I do not know.” I heard him laugh.

“Shy? C’mon I wont bite.” But I still remained serious and looked in the same direction.

“I’m Carlo by the way.” He held out his hand for me at the same time. Why is he acting like that? Doctors like him should act professional.

Fortunately, the elevator was open so I left immediately without shaking his hand. He immediately followed me.

“It’s nasty.” I heard him say but I just kept walking.

I feel like he’s still following me.

Fck! Where the hell is my car?!

Before I could even get in the car I had a taxman go in front of us.

“Babe! I was waiting for you!” I saw the smile on his lips as if he wanted what was happening, his gaze turned to Doc. Carlo stared at it badly. I was startled when he pulled me in his chest.

Damn!

“Do you need anything for my girlfriend?” He asked arrogantly.

“N-nothing.” And I didn’t realize that the Doctor had left, I immediately separated from him and slapped him on the arm.

“Ouch!”

“What girlfriend are you talking about?! What if I hit you?!” Instead of being scared, he just laughed.

“What? He’s hitting on you!”

“And you don’t?”

“Excluding me of course!” I roll my eyes.

I thought my day was over but tonight it will be ruined because of this pest.

“What are you doing here?”

“Fetching you.”

“I have my car, Chaos” I lazily promised.

“I have too.” As he raises his eyebrows go lower.

“Tsk!” Then I went straight to my car but the i***t followed me.

“Chaos! Go home and can’t you stop?”

“Not allowed.” Even with my back turned, I could still feel him smiling. I’m just about to explode in.

I was about to open my car door when he stopped me

“What’s up?!” I sighed. Did I really say that and this dog smiled again.

“Let’s date.” My eyes widen.

“Date that face of yours!” I opened the door again but he stopped me again.

“My treat?”

“Even if you’re free all over the Philippines, I don’t have a pack.” He stopped me from opening the door again so I couldn’t help but get angry.

“Chaos!”

“Please?”

“I really don’t want to! Why are you so naughty?!”

“Why don’t you?”

Shocks! Its really stubborn!

“You’re out of Chaos.” I said coldly, but he still didn’t want to let go of my hand. That’s why I have no choice.

“Ouch! Fck!” He moaned and I finally got into my car, then locked it.

I left him there complaining, I just stepped on his foot with force. He deserves that anyway!

I was on my way home when I saw a child outside a coffee shop, I saw that he was about to close and fall.

The boy was obviously a beggar because of his clothes, I saw him alone. Because I really love kids I stopped my car on one side and got out to go to the kid.

I caught his head as he was about to fall to the floor.

That’s why he was wide -eyed and obviously surprised by what I did.

“I’m sorry.”

But I just smiled, I held his hand even though it was dirty,

“Have you eaten?” I asked him.

He shook his head sadly.

“Come on.” I saw the doubt on his face so I laughed.

“Don’t worry I’m not a bad person, we’ll just eat. Are you okay?” He was about to shake when his stomach growled, so I laughed even more.
