CHAPTER 4: UNEXPECTED VISITOR

Zero and Cloud spend their remaining two nights drinking and planning in each other's places. The two also talked the possibilities for the threats their client's receiving for the past three years.

The threat was continuously being ignored because the mastermind behind those threats was not hurting their client. But... his silence finally broke and started to take action in different ways possible.

At May 7, a delivery arrived to the client's doorstep and when they opened it, a dead rat showed with a broken word.

May 9, before everyone can move on with that incident, someone attacked the guard that is on his service with the client's mansion for two decades. The old guard died the next day after being in a comatose state with another broken word beside the dead body. No one knows how come the word was placed despite of being heavily guarded.

May 20, a week before the client issued the application to the BMA, the client was ambushed and got hit on her shoulder when she was on her way to a business that stayed unknown after the interview.

And May 29, today, a news said that a theft happened with an important heirloom from the client's family was stolen.

"Even though I try to dig up the deepest part of my brain, I can't still figure out the intention of the mastermind. I hate it!" Cloud complained.

"The client is too mysterious. Or should I say, acting so mysterious. What the hell that old man is thinking by accepting such incompetent and unreliable client? Do that person wants us dead? Or that person is too stupid and childish to think that we are psychics?" Zero also complained, followed by a low groan as he massage his own temple due to headache.

Cloud wants to speak. But he choose to stay silent. He wants that woman be in the bad side of his friend. He may be meanie and cruel, but he will not be into her, coming back to Zero's life.

"Take it easy. Let's drink that up instead, because tomorrow is the starting of our first grade SS mission!" Cloud cheered Zero while holding a glass of rum in his hand.

Zero watched his friend with a smile. He then obliged and drink all his thoughts until the both of them drop.

In the middle of the night of May 30, a knock woke Cloud. He turned to the sleeping Zero and smiled before fixing himself as he walk towards the door.

He take a peek from the small hole to see who is the unexpected guest that ruined his beautiful dream. And he is surprised to see a familiar face waiting for the door to open.

"Faye?" Cloud called the visitor's name.

Faye or also known as Fate Vasquez is his and Zero's friend. They met her in secondary school as one of the loyal aids of the Baldwin's clan. She is beautiful and a bit shy at first, especially whenever Zero is around. But she is actually cunning and cruel whenever she feels threatened. She is like Cloud. But the difference between them is, their gender and status to Zero's heart.

Cloud is threatened whenever Faye is around. Because Faye knows the secret he have that even to Zero, he cannot confess.

Cloud opened the door. He also have something to say to Faye. The girl is shocked to see Cloud inside Zero's unit. She also saw the mess the two created with the pungent smell of alcohol in the air. She approached the sleeping Zero. His shirt is opened that showed his muscled abs and broad chest that makes Faye drool for it. But before she could touch the sleeping log-like Zero, she was hurriedly pulled by Cloud to the kitchen.

"Hey! What's your problem? Don't pull me like that!" Faye complained.

"Shut the f**k up! I have something to tell you." Cloud hissed.

"What?" Faye asked Irritably.

"Do you know that his first childhood friend is here?" Cloud can't hide his anxiousness from his voice.

Faye realized the heaviness of that childhood friend's threat to the both of them, that's why she became serious also.

She may be called as Zero's friend. But the fact of her, being a loyal servant to her young master makes her heart feel in extreme danger of being neglected in the end.

"How did you know?" Faye inquired. She wants to get rid of that friend in an instant.

"She is our new mission." Cloud knows the confidentiality of their mission. But what he just revealed is the client and not the mission, that is what he thought.

He also thought that, no one will know what he did, so it's okay.

People say that a person who holds importance to a certain thing or person can be so crazy and unreasonable just to protect what they holds so dear. That proves what Cloud have done, and also Faye will do. They can be crazy and unreasonable just for Zero's affection.

"Uhm." They are alerted with Zero's low growl. They both take a peek towards the dark living room where Zero is still sleeping half-naked.

"What are you planning to do then?" Faye asked Cloud with her low voice.

Cloud became silent and think thoroughly but in vain. He just shrugged his shoulders that answered Faye's question instantly. Faye sighed and pat Cloud's back.

"Don't worry. We are comrades and we have the same opponent this time. I will cooperate with you. All you need to do is to inform me with your mission's updates." Faye said.

Cloud hesitant, but while looking at Zero's peaceful face, he nod and started to prepare foods for Zero that will wake up soon.

'I will do everything to keep you safe, Zero. I will never let that b***h hurt you again.' Cloud thought.

Zero soon woke up. He first wondered why Faye is in his unit, but he just ignored it and started to prepare his luggage for their incoming mission that they bet to be ended for only two weeks.
