Chapter Five Green HealerMarlie ushered Mai, Long, Akra and Sahib through corridors of painted walls lined with decorative gold cornices that met the high ceilings. They followed her up many steps and along more corridors. These ones were decorated with tapestries of the jungle hanging loosely against the walls. They reached an entrance made up of double black doors with a large gold face protruding from its surface.
‘This is the healer’s chamber.’ As Marlie lifted her hand to knock the doors began to open. The gold face separated, one half swinging away to the left and the other to the right.
