The candlelight in Edwin's study flickered as he leaned back in his chair, arms crossed, face unreadable. And across from him, Ralph stood with his hands behind his back. He had thiis expression, one of controlled irritation.
"He approached me at the training grounds," Ralph plainly said. "Said he wants back in. Claims that he has seen enough to doubt Vanessa and Garrett."
Edwin did not say a word. He simply stared back at Ralph before laughing uncontrollably.
Ralph continued, "He is playing the long game, obviously. He even went ahead to tell me he was just following orders before. And that now he realized his mistake, he is trying to fix what he broke."
