All by himself, Edwin sat in his study. His elbows were placed on the desk, while his hands folded under his chin. His thoughts churned. Every hour that passed felt like a fraying thread. The truth slipping away, one second after the other. A sharp knock snapped him out of his thoughts. "Come in," he called, composing himself. Ralph quickly stepped in, carefully closing the door behind him. His face bore the look of urgency, but not panic. It carried something more. It was a promising look. "Well?"
