Emma I watched Nathan’s retreating back for a few seconds after he said he had a meeting outside the courthouse. The way he said it; calm, direct, like he wasn’t open to even considering my suggestion to sit and talk, made my jaw clench. But I didn’t push, and I sure didn’t let him see I was pissed, not right there in front of everyone. The last thing I wanted was to cause a scene that would make me look stupid.
