Nathan For once, I wasn’t staying late at the courthouse this Friday, and even though that wasn't the only thing I was happy about, I was still grateful. I was in my chambers with sleeves rolled up, closing out some last-minute notes on a ruling I had deferred… half my mind on the file in front of me, the other half already checking out. My briefcase was packed and propped beside the desk, while my suit jacket hung on the back of my chair. It was almost time, I told myself, as we were supposed to leave soon.
