Nathan I stood with my back to the courthouse building, my jacket off and my sleeves rolled up my arms again, leaning against my car as I waited with Eleanor. Our bags were already packed and in the trunk, mine and Eleanor’s, and the air had the kind of warmth that hinted at a good drive ahead of us. Still, I kept checking the time and the stretch of pavement in front of us like I was waiting for something more than Kyle’s eternally late ass.
