Hannah remembered the parking space next to Sterling, the elevator, the hallway, and even 1535. The memories emerged, soon flooding her mind with unpleasant images of the last time she visited the condominium. “Ouch!” she said when she stubbed her toe on the wheel of the transport box, grateful for the painful distraction to bring her back to reality. Sterling opened the door, revealing a luxurious condominium with massive windows overlooking the city. Set in the Pearl District, the windows facing the south gave a view of the downtown skyline. To the east, the windows pointed to granaries and the shipping district, with the Broadway Bridge casting a wide shadow in the Willamette below. Off to the horizon, the snow covered peaks of Mt. Hood and the Cascades penetrated the clouds. W
