Tim and Hannah picked through the cluttered bookcases, drawers and end tables in Tim's cluttered apartment. They searched for items that would comfortably fit in the van that had a singular purpose of entertaining a precocious child during the long journey. In addition, Tim suspected that police would certainly search his apartment once they determined that Hannah was his sister. He opened the back of his smartphone to remove the diodes and cards in the back of the device. Tim shoved the card and diodes into his pocket, and placed the smartphone on the dining room table. “Where's your phone, Hannah?” he asked.
Hannah remembered that she had left it on the floorboard of her Ford. “I don't have it, Tim.”
