Maison hadn’t wanted to leave the hospital room, but Kieran needed to deal with the wereotter and didn’t want his son in the room when he did. Erin was livid when she returned, and Auron had to calm down and restrain his wife when she was told what had happened when Kieran woke up.
Altina finally suggested Maison go with his grandparents, and she would stay in the hospital room with Kieran. Artem and Hikaru arrived shortly before Erin was finally convinced with paperwork on the custody battle so Kieran could get caught up. Knowing werecheetahs surrounded her son calmed Erin enough that she agreed to take Maison so he wouldn’t have to watch his daddy be a badass werecheetah king and mercenary.
