48.Kagami

Crimson eyes flecked with silver looked out at Kagami from the mirror. Her makeup had been smeared, and blood decorated her chin and front. It also covered her hands and arms like long gloves. Her dress was ruined, but that didn’t matter. Cain would buy her a new one. She just needed to clean up before Kage woke up. Kagami stripped the ruined dress from herself as she walked back out into the bedroom from the bathroom. When she passed the dresser, she picked up the bottle of whiskey and drank from it. The burn was pleasant and familiar, and she felt Kage settle back into slumber. Sleep, my Aiko, she crooned to him. “Let me guess. Kagami killed another human?” Abel asked shortly after he answered the phone. “You know me so well, Abel. Be a dear and send someone to clean up my mess, please,” Kagami said sweetly. “Boss wants Kage to kill, not you.” “My Aiko doesn’t want to kill.” “What happened to your thrall?” Kagami glanced at the bed. Blood soaked everything, and the naked man’s throat had been ripped out. His chest and stomach were a torn mess, and the room had begun to smell like an outhouse and a butcher shop. “He insulted Kage last night,” she said flatly. “We’ll send someone up to clean. Boss wants Kage tonight.” “I thought Cain liked me,” Kagami said. “He does, but he also wants Kage to be as bloodthirsty.” Kagami snorted and hung up the phone. I won’t let anyone change you, Kage. Before she turned on the shower, she cleaned up the blood she had trailed into the bathroom. As the hot water in the shower washed the blood away, Kagami lathered herself with bodywash that smelled of spiced honey. Kage loved that scent. He missed the one scent that reminded him of Kieran. He didn’t seem to be missing you, Kagami thought bitterly. She hadn’t been entirely honest about why she had killed the thrall. Cain had taken them to Sanrina last night—a pointless apology for his latest string playthings. Kage hadn’t wanted to go, so Kagami had gone. It had been surprising to see Kieran and his w***e there. Kagami had watched them for a time, gently reaching out her magic to taste their desires. Kieran had been a desire null for the most part. The only desire she could read from him was to get the night over with, but that had been halfhearted. It didn’t matter to him if the date was long or short. The woman, Altina, her desires were crystal clear. She wanted a child, and she wanted Kieran to be the father. She also desired him in the way Kage desired him. That desire had hit Kagami so hard that Kage almost woke up. Luckily, a new bottle of wine had been delivered to the table to settle him back to sleep. Kagami sighed as she pressed her forehead to the warmed tile in the shower. Kieran or Cain. I’ll protect you, Kage. Someone knocked at the bathroom door, and she heard them tell her the room had been cleaned. She felt Kage stir, and she sighed. Kagami wanted to let him sleep for longer. Sleep until they were free of Cain and far away. She yawned and felt sleepy as Kage woke. Kage moaned softly in the twilight between sleep and wakefulness as Kagami reached down to stroke their shared c**k. At these moments, Kagami could show Kage how much she loved him. Could pleasure him the way Cain never did. They moaned together as Kagami used the soap lather to pump their c**k in steady tight strokes. Her fingers reached down to enter and explore their entrance. Their hot seed spilled into the running water in thick ropes as Kage fully awakened and Kagami fell into a deep slumber. Kage I love you, my Aiko, Kagami whispered as she left him for the place she slept. Kage suddenly felt incredibly lonely and wished he could be with Kagami when he was awake. He looked around him in the shower. The steam smelled of spiced honey, and he longed for Kieran as he turned off the water. The towels and bathrobe were the softest he had ever felt, but he still longed for the cheap ones Kieran owned. The bedroom had been cleaned recently, and the bedsheets were new. On the dresser was a large bouquet of crimson roses, the same color as Cain’s eyes. A box of chocolates sat next to the vase of flowers. I missed you last night at dinner, my Dulce Puella. – Cain Kage went to the bar to the side of the large room and whimpered at the door lock. Cain never let him have the key.
