Chapter 10: The Unexpected Surprise

Cassandra Takahashi Watson’s Pov.

I am planning to go to Oklahoma to surprise him for his birthday. Today is his birthday. I texted Steven, his friend, about the address of his apartment. I rescheduled everything, so I would have a day on his birthday.

I'm so glad that I've finally arrived in Oklahoma. His friend Steven is the one who fetches me to the airport. We stopped first in the bakery shop to order him a cake.

We finally arrived at his apartment. I am so happy following Steven toward the elevator. “Thanks for doing this, Stev.” “No worries, Cass.” “I’m really excited about surprising him.” “Yeah, me too. I can't wait to see his reaction later. I think we need to wait first because he’s at work right now.” “Yeah. It’s not a problem for me.” When the elevator stopped, we went outside to walk toward his room. When Steven opened the door, I was surprised to see Zachary standing wearing only boxer shorts.

“Zack?” He turned when I called his name. I saw confusion and surprise on his face. “What are you doing here?” He asked while looking in the other corner of the room and I followed where he was looking. “Honey, who’s there?” I heard a voice of a woman on the corner where he was looking. A familiar girl came out from that corner.

“A-amaya Hansley?” I said, shuttering. “Oh, good to see you, Cassandra Watson.” She said while smiling and walked toward Zachary. The f**k is she doing here? I looked at them angrily. “What is this all about, Zachary?” I looked at him directly with confusion in my eyes. “Isn’t it obvious, Cassandra, he loves me more than he loves you. You fool.” She said while laughing at me. I felt the touch of Steven in my arms trying to stop me. “f**k! Zachary! I made this day a special day for you bu-but is this what I am going to see here?” “Duh, he didn’t ask you to come here, Cassandra.” Amaya said without letting go of Zachary’s hand. Tears are starting to fall on my cheek now. I can’t take this anymore. “f**k, Zachary! Why aren’t you talking? Explain your f*****g self!” “I lov-” I interrupted him. “Don’t say those f*****g words of yours. It’s disgusting. You already told me about that. Is Amaya the reason why you are always busy?” He just faced down. I faced Steven and asked, “You are always the companion of this man. Answer me honestly, Steven. Is Amaya the woman he’s always with?” Steven let a sigh before answering. “Yes, Cassandra. I’m sorry for not telling you from the very beginning.” I nodded. “Why the hell are you wearing boxer shorts, Zachary?” Amaya laughed evilly and answered me. “Are you a fool, Cassandra? Isn’t it obvious? We just made love together. We just shared our bodies.” I walked toward them while opening the cake that I was holding. I stopped in front of Zachary. “I bought a cake for you. For your birthday.” I said while crying. “But I think you don’t need this. All you need is a f*****g cake for her. So, eat it off and get full of her cake.” I continued and left them, but Amaya stopped me. “Don’t leave first.” I faced her furiously. “What’s the feeling of your own medicine, Cassandra? You have been the most important guy in my life before without even thinking of what I might feel.” “f**k, Amaya! I didn’t get Nathan. It was him who chose me over you. It’s not my fault if he loves me more than you.” “I want you to know. I am not Amaya Hansley. I am Amaya Hernandez, step-sister of Stephen Hernandez.” She laughs while saying those. “Don’t worry he doesn’t know what I am doing. You can now leave.” After she said that faced Zachary and kissed him passionately in f*****g in front of me. I ran outside.

Amaya Hernandez’s Pov.

I laughed when I saw her leave. Zachary kept his silence. He is not responding to my kiss. He pushed me away from him. “What the hell are you saying to her?” He asked. I smiled and faced him. “The truth, honey. I told her the truth about me.” “You know her?” He asked. “Yeah. She’s my college classmate.” “Why didn’t you tell me from the beginning?” “Because you don’t deserve to know about it, besides you used to take revenge on her.” I said while laughing. “f**k, Amaya! I gave you everything. I even give you my body. I give you the happiness I never gave to Cassandra.” “Better.” I replied. He slapped me, but I just gave him a smile, an evil smile. He went to his room.

I looked at Steven, who was still stunned. “Can’t you digest what you are hearing and seeing now?” I asked. “f**k, Amaya. You ruin everything. Why did you even show up in his life?” He asked annoyingly. “Simply, I want to take revenge. It’s not my fault if he fell on me.” I wanted Zachary to walk toward the door, but before he could, I stop him. “Hey, honey. Where are you going?” “Get lost, Amaya. You already got what you want from me and her. Now leave us.” He said and, without turning back, he opened the door to chase her.

I opened the door to leave his room. Since I’m done with my business with her and him. It’s time to leave. To leave their story. I laughed as I rode to the elevator because of the thought of them breaking up because of me. “Two fools.” I smirked and that’s the time the door of the elevator opened.

Zachary Lawson's Pov.

I ran heavily to find where she was. I get nervous about possible things that might happen to her here, especially because she’s not used to being here. I gritted my teeth when I saw Amaya walking confidently on the street exactly to where Cassandra was walking. I ran toward them.

“Cassandra, stop,” I shouted. I don’t care if anyone can hear me. She continuously walks like she doesn’t hear me. When I am close to her, I hold her hand, which she immediately takes away from me. I saw how happy Amaya was. She’s just standing watching Cassandra and me.

“Oh, I never expected that this would be the result of my revenge. Does it taste good, Cassandra?” “Can you stop, Amaya? Leave us alone.” I told her, but she just laughed. A f*****g evil. “Maybe you forgot what yours is mine already.” She said, f**k! “Isn’t it enough that you already have what Cassandra and I have?” “Actually, enough especially that it’s worse compared to what I was expecting.” I let out a sigh when she left us. I returned my gaze to Cassandra.

“Hey, baby.” I tried to talk to her sweetly. I’m trying to get her to focus, but damn! “Don’t call me baby. You told me before that I was just your only baby but, wow, really. I’m really the only baby of yours because you call her ‘honey’. God, disgusting.” she said while looking at me disgusted. “I know I made a mistake. It’s not my intentio-” She interrupted me while laughing and saying, “Shut up, Zachary. All you say are lies. Is it not your intention? Because if you don’t intentionally want it, you won’t make the same mistake and you won’t even touch her. You are such an amazing user.” She laughed, but I could see pain in her eyes. I can’t respond to her because she’s right. She’s f*****g right. “Get lost. Don’t you ever come back to my life.” I faced her. She’s kidding, right? “You’re kidding, right? You love me, Cass. I know that and I f*****g love you.” “Don’t you ever say that word again in front of me. I disgusted myself with loving you. For loving a man who isn’t committed. For loving a man who will just use me when the woman she wants to f**k isn’t with him. I LOVED you, Zachary. With ‘d’ it means past.” She took off the promised ring that I had her on her birthday and handed it to my hand. She walked away. I am stunned. I don't know what I should do. Every word she’s uttering is painful. It’s excruciating. I can’t do this without her.
