The objective of this test is that we need to get ten Glorious Stones that are scattered around the forest. We currently have one on our hands. Upon observing the stones, I memorized its aura and I tried to detect every Glorious Stones in the whole forest.
The placement of the Glorious stones is not that hard to identify, the only problem is that there are only ten Glorious stones. There’s no question about this, they intended to do that so we have to fight each other.
Instead of having a five versus five battle, we are having a game that looks like a battle royale. I can feel the gazes of the spectators and they have specifically an eye on Amaya since she might be the strongest mage in our section.
“Amaya is really amazing, right? Just five minutes as the test begins and we already got one glorious stone. The professor told us that getting those stones would take us a while,” Renver said.
Well if there are twenty teams, that means only ten teams would get it from nowhere. And after that we have to get it from other teams since the stones are very far away from each other and everyone’s starting point is different from each other. We are lucky that they teleported our team near one of the Glorious stones.
The Goblin King throws Zenith’s sword in the far distance and starts charging at Zenith.
《Atomic Execution》
Shockwave was made but the sword was destroyed upon releasing the shockwave.
The Goblin King Smashed the ground with his other hand and a big rock blocked the shockwave from Zenith’s attack.
Zenith ran backward and grabbed another goblin’s sword.
It’s too different from the last Goblin Overlord even though the previous one is almost becoming a Goblin King. He’s truly the leader of this group. Zenith thought.
The Goblin King throws his morning star at Zenith. Zenith was shocked by how fast and how big the weapon was coming at him. He moves sideways to dodge it but since his focus was on the morning star, he didn’t realize that the Goblin King was already at his front.
The Goblin King was able to grab Zenith’s leg. It slammed Zenith from one side to another.
He caught me. But the damage I’ll receive from that morning star would be much more than this if it hits me head on. Zenith thought.
《Crucifixion》
The shockwaves hit the Goblin King’s hand making it lose his grip on Zenith's leg.
Zenith was thrown up near his sword and was able to get up quickly.
What is this feeling? I think his warcry’s cooldown will be up. I need to stop it or I’ll die if I can't control myself. Zenith thought.
《Crescent Strike》
Zenith targets the ceiling of the cave.
UGHA!
Zenith impaled one of his feet with his sword. As the warcry affected him. He moves forward but the sword was able to stop him from moving from his position.
My intuition is right! I need this little sacrifice! The rocks that fall down from above will slow him down. Zenith thought.
The Goblin King didn’t move for a moment but when he realized that Zenith was not coming to him, he started hurling his morning star again, hitting the rocks that block its way. After a second, the Goblin King was able to pinpoint Zenith’s position and rushed towards him.
The warcry duration ended making Zenith able to move freely.
《Circular Blast》
The blast didn’t knock back the Goblin King but it was stopped for a moment.
“That’s enough time to make this plan work,” Zenith said.
《Atomic Execution》
As the Goblin slammed the ground, the shockwave from Zenith’s attack that was directed at the ground where the Goblin King was standing made the ground crumble into pieces.
《Blink Strike》
“Plus,” Zenith said.
《Snake Ascension》
“And finally,” Zenith said.
《Sword Eruption》
All of Zenith’s attack hit the Goblin King but it was able to dodge its head from the Sword Eruption.
He’s still off balance but I don’t have any skills that I could use. This is my last chance to win against him. Zenith thought.
Zenith’s aura changed from dark brown back to red.
“I still have something on my sleeve!” Zenith exclaimed.
《Refresh》
“Now, I’ll use all of my skills in this instant. No second to waste,” Zenith said.
《Crescent Strike》
The shockwave hits the Goblin King’s back.
《Atomic Execution》
Shockwave was released as Zenith cut through the Goblin King’s skin.
《Crucifixion》
The Goblin King growled in pain.
Still not finished! Zenith thought.
《Snake Ascension》
“Plus,” Zenith said.
《Sword Eruption》
“This time, you weren’t able to dodge my Sword Eruption. Now die,” Zenith declared.
The Goblin King falls down to the ground not showing any movement.
Due to Zenith’s exhaustion, he also fell to his knees.
“My job is done, you monsters will not be able to invade our village anymore,” Zenith said.
Zenith falls down to the ground still having a little bit of consciousness.
Footsteps were heard in the cave.
Did the villagers already find me here? Wait, no. Those footsteps are very heavy, don’t tell me that there are other goblins here. Zenith thought.
Zenith turned his face to see who’s footsteps were those.
It was a footsteps from two other Goblin Kings coming from the deeper area of the cave.
“The room is empty? But I got the feeling that this is the last phase,” Zenith said.
The door behind him shuts down and Zenith falls to the ground.
“What is this? I’m losing consciousness,” Zenith said.
Zenith falls down to the ground.
“Wait? What happened? Where am I?” Zenith asked.
“Zenith? Why are you like that? Let’s have our breakfast, already,” a woman said.
“Mom? Is that you?” Zenith asked.
“Stupid brother, what are you saying there? Of course it is, hurry up or the breakfast that Mom cooked would be cooled, it’s cold outside so it’s more delicious if the meal is hot,” Taiya said.
“Taiya?” Zenith asked.
“What? Did you become blind, brother?” Taiya said.
This is not normal, I can’t remember what happened from the past. Zenith asked himself.
Zenith went to the dining table and sat on one of the chairs.
A man opens the door and joins them.
“Honey, did you manage to find them?” Aica asked.
“Yes, we were able to hunt the goblins,” Toya replied.
Goblins? There’s a goblin here? Zenith thought to himself.
“Did you find the reason why those goblins are in the vicinity of our village?” Aica asked.
“We are really not sure about this, but there is evidence that they just lost their way but we are still investigating it so you don’t have to worry,” Toya said.
Oh, just stray goblins. I want to join them too. If only I got a sword to use. Zenith thought.
“Don’t overexert yourself, Honey. We got other villagers that could help on that matter, even Dalton is here in the village,” Aica said.
“I know that, I’m just getting a weird feeling about this,” Toya said.
“I understand, let’s not talk about that in the middle of eating our breakfast. Kids, make sure you consume every food on your plate, alright?” Aica said.
After eating, Aica and Toya talk more about the goblins. Zenith tried to eavesdrop but couldn’t do anything since the couple lowered their voices.
“What are you doing?” Taiya asked.
“Oh, I just want to sit here,” Zenith replied.
“Outside our parents’ room? That’s odd, stupid brother,” Taiya said.
Toya proceeds to go out again. Time passes and it’s already night time.
“Is dad still not coming home?” Taiya asked.
Aica patted Taiya’s head.
“Don’t worry about your dad too much, remember that he got a duty here in the village,” Aica said.
Toya suddenly barges into the door.
“Aica, I’ll pass on eating dinner, I'll just stop over to tell you this. Don’t go outside and keep both Zenith and Taiya safe,” Toya said.
“Dad, I want to help,” as Zenith insists while looking at his father with determined eyes.
Toya, Zenith’s father, shook his head as he patted his son’s head.
“Don’t worry, son. This is just like a small errand for me, just stay with your Mom and your little sister,” a very calming voice was heard from Toya.
Zenith’s dream is to be like his father, to be a hero that will protect and save the world from evil.
“I will be like you! Just so you know, I’ll be the best swordsman in the world,” the face of a man can already be seen from a ten-year old boy as he speaks enthusiastically.
I want to be a dependable man so that Dad and Mom will never engage themselves in any harm. The thought of seeing his father and mother relaxing and having fun together in their house gets over Zenith's mind.
“I know you will, and you will surely surpass me,” his father smiles. “Don’t worry, I will train with all of your blood, sweat and tears. Just wait okay?” Toya shuts the door as soon as he leaves.
Geez. That old man just wants to take all the glory and honor by himself, I know I can do much if it’s only goblins. What’s the waste of just having a little fun? Wait, this thought, I’ve had this one before, I can’t remember when, but I’m sure this moment happened already in the past. If this is the thing, mom will say that my dream will come true in the future. Zenith thought.
“Zenith, just rest for now. Your dream will come true some time in the future,” his mother told him.
“Hmm? The best swordsman, huh?” Taiya interjects and giggles. “You cannot even beat your own little sister, how can you even be the best swordsman?” Taiya added.
