They want to test our magic skills in the upcoming week. Shouldn’t they have done that before we came to this academy?
Well, I guess it’s because the section I’m in is for people that didn’t have to do anything before being admitted to the highest section. Some people here are recommended by well known people, even if they are not from the royal family, their skills are high enough befitting to be in this section.
Maybe I could use this test to impress Amaya. Since we could witness everyone during this test, I’ll be able to demonstrate how powerful I am.
“Hey, isn’t it the frivolous prince?” one of my classmates said.
From his attire, I don’t think that he’s not a royal. He is one of those students that came from recommendation. I guess even other people have this kind of attitude even if they are not in the royal family.
“Don’t tease him, he might tuck in her little sister’s skirt. Imagine being a prince but hiding behind your little sister,” another one replied.
I don’t care what they are talking about me, but if they talk about the people that are dear to me, I’ll beat them to pieces.
“Are they also employees here? I didn’t know that there are people that work through the night,” Zenith asked Rista.
“Ohh, since you’re working during the day, you’re not very familiar with them. Their work is much different to the work of most of our employees. But don’t mind it, as you can see, they are still smiling and I take care of them as much as I can,” Rista said.
“I see, so they are also not listed in the employees that we could enlist in our outreach program, huh?” Zenith said.
“Yep, as much as I wanted to let everyone partake in your activities, I think that including them would not be good for them,” Rista said.
Zenith saw that the faces of those employees showed that they were enjoying their job as Rista had said to her. Zenith tried to use her eyes of discernment to those employees but before she could do it, Rista blocked her sight. Zenith immediately stops what she was about to do.
“Ohh, I forgot. Did you already have your breakfast? We could have breakfast together since I’m still not having one,” Rista asked.
“I already have mine, but I could join you and just have a coffee,” Zenith accepted Rista’s offer.
Rista leads Zenith to his office, into which they see Ashe already awaiting at the door of the office.
“Ohh, Ashe. Perfect timing, could you ask one of the staff to bring me my breakfast and also a coffee for Zenith,” Rista said.
Ashe just bowed her head and looked coldly at Zenith.
Rista and Zenith sit at one of the tables in the office where they could comfortably have their breakfast.
“So, I know you have many questions for me. You could ask me anything you wanted to know,” Rista said.
“Ohh, I don’t have that many questions though. I’m just thinking that you’re a weird person,” Zenith said.
Rista laughs at what Zenith just said. He replied, “Really? Then I think you are also a weird one. Why do you think that I’m weird?”
“Well, first of all, you have so much achievement even though you are very young. It seems that you’re so much more mature than what your age really is. Your personality during work and during your personal time is so much different. Not that I’m saying it's not a good thing, but how can you be silly and also be serious in a short span of time?” Zenith answered.
“Ohh, so you’re observing me that much, huh?” Rista replied.
“No, one could notice it if they could spend more than enough time with you,” Zenith said.
“Fair enough. But I’m glad that you’re taking interest in me?” Rista replied while making a genuine smile.
Zenith smiles back. She asked, “What about you? Why do you think I’m a weird one?”
“First, you’re beautiful but you still don’t have a boyfriend,” Rista said.
“That thing is not that important to me, so I am still not thinking too much about that,” Zenith said.
“Second, you’re very good at almost everything,” Rista said.
“I’m just working my hardest to learn new things and I’m sure that what you are saying is not true since you’re just noticing what I’m good at,” Zenith replied.
“Hmm.. Good reasoning. Third, you’re good at judging if a person is good or bad. Every person you are close to is seemingly a good person, Rista said.
“I’m not judging them, I’m just interacting with them and seeing if they are a good person. If I think that some people are not as good as what you are implying,” Zenith answered.
“Fourth one and the final one and also the most important one, you’re the first person that made my heart skip a beat,” Rista said.
Zenith becomes silent and before she could utter a word, Ashe interjects to let the staff serve breakfast to Rista and a coffee to Zenith. The staff and Ashe leave immediately afterwards.
Rista laughs. He said, “Well, that’s awkward. You don’t need to respond to the last thing I said. So how’s work?”
“Ohh. It’s fine, I’m really happy that I got this kind of job. Again, thank you so much for this job,” Zenith said.
“Again with your thanks? You prove to me and everyone here that you deserve your job. No one would question your position so don’t think about that too much. And I should be the one thanking you for all the things that you are doing in our company,” Rista said.
Zenith and Rista continue to talk about work related things and after they are finished with their breakfast, Zenith proceeds to go to her workplace.
The day continues and she’s already at the Denver Coffee Shop. As usual, Amaya was there even before the shop opened. They served him with his usual order.
“Hi, Zenith,” Rista started a conversation.
“Hello?” Zenith replied.
Amaya laughs. He said, “What’s with that response?”
“I’m just startled,” Zenith answered.
“Care to join me at this table?” Amaya asked.
“But I have work here, so I don’t thi-” Zenith said but was cut by Adam.
“Don’t worry, Ma’am Zenith. We are more than enough to handle the work, you could spend your time with Sir Amaya,” Adam said as he and all the other staff had a big smile on their faces.
What’s wrong with my bosses today? Are they not busy with their own thing? Zenith thought to herself. Zenith sat in a seat across from Amaya.
“Are you free this coming Saturday and Sunday?” Amaya asked.
The weekends? Well, I just usually spend time with Renver. It’s still Tuesday so I still do not know what I will do on those days. Why is this guy asking? Zenith thought to herself.
“I still don’t have anything in particular to do on those days. But I’m usually spending time with my friend,” Zenith said.
“Then it’s perfect, you could also ask your friend to come. You’re talking about Renver, right? Teth’s daughter?” Amaya said.
“I could do that but I need to know first what are you inviting me in?” Zenith said.
“My family will have an outing on a private island during those days. Stella and Samuel would also be there and they will expect that you will also be there since you become close to them, right?” Amaya said.
Ohhh. If it’s for them then I could just accept his offer. Zenith thought to herself.
“Is that so? Then I’ll ask Renver,” Zenith said.
Amaya smiled. He said, “Then you could go back to your work. I’m sorry for disturbing you.”
“Okay, Sir.” Zenith said.
As Zenith stands up from where she was seated, her bracelet blinks. She knows that the guy from yesterday will come to their shop so she immediately takes the position of taking orders from her subordinate.
As she expected, the guy came and greeted her with a smile. She gave the menu to the guy as he seated.
“Ohh, nice meeting you again. From the look of your uniform, you’re the manager here. Why are you the one taking orders?” the guy asked.
“Yes, Sir. I’m the manager but I do the tasks of my staff as well. It’s more on being able to experience what they are doing,” Zenith replied.
“Zenith, what a nice name. I’m Gwen,” the guy said as he read out the name written on Zenith’s badge placed on her uniform.
“Nice meeting you, Gwen,” Zenith said while slowly sitting in one of the chairs on Gwen’s table.
“I came here again since having this kind of ambiance makes me more productive at work,” Gwen said.
“I see, I’m glad that we could help you out on that matter,” Zenith said.
As Zenith observed, Gwen. She saw that he frowned after scrolling his laptop. She could see that Gwen was irritated at whatever he was seeing.
“Just call for me if you have already decided on your order, Sir Gwen,” Zenith said.
“Ohh, okay. I’m sorry. Just give me some random coffee different from before. I wanted to try everything on your menu anyway,” Gwen said.
“Okay, sir,” Zenith said.
The time continues and Zenith just observes Gwen. She also noticed that Amaya left earlier than usual in the coffee shop so she concluded that Amaya just wanted to invite her personally for their family outing.
As the shop closes, Zenith again follows Gwen on his way home. She thought that it would be the same scenario as the last time but Gwen came home. She heard that he was arguing with someone loud enough for outsiders to hear.
“You’re on that thing again?! I said no more watching those kinds of things, you cannot even understand what they are singing! You’re just adding an unnecessary charge to our bill. How will I ever afford buying a car for this family?! Look at what your uncle has! We have nothing compared to them” Gwen shouted.
I don’t think that doing that would significantly increase the amount of their bill. So the latter thing is his problem, right? Zenith talked to herself.
“You’re right. That’s the reason,” an unfamiliar voice was heard by Zenith.
