“Revenge gone bad. I was so mad at him, and I wanted to get even,” I answered, fighting back another bucket of tears from falling.
To cry in front of my mom would be the last thing I would want to do. I knew she could tell that I felt exceptionally bad for making up that lie, but I wasn’t about to cry over it in front of her. Just like any normal teenager, I couldn’t.
