——Sam —One Year Later The UC Berkeley library held a distinctive place in the hearts and minds of many Berkeley students, alumni, faculty, or anyone who felt like the building was their personal sanctuary. To me, it was one of the best facilities the school had for me to take advantage of. With its wide collection of books and materials, which I both needed and loved, I couldn’t ask for more from it. The place became my citadel of knowledge. After working on my homework, I rewarded myself with reading one of my favorite books, To Kill a Mockingbird. “That is one of the most exceptional books that confronted racial inequality that had existed in America.” I had no idea whether it was just some random line of conversation my ears aimlessly picked up from the people passing by my seat
