OPHELIA'S POV SIX YEARS LATER…. I woke up painting drenched in my own sweat. Another nightmare! “Mummy!” I looked towards the feet of the bed to see Justin, Jason and Daisy staring up at me with their puppy eyes. I gathered them in my arms, “morning Angels.” Justin and Jason smiled in return while Daisy frowned deeply. “We are late for school, Mummy.” She stated frantically. I smiled gently at her and kissed her cheeks. I did the same to the boys. “I'm sorry my darling.” My apology brightened her face and soon all three of them dragged me out of bed. In no time we were done and I was driving them to school. I pressed the acceleration pedal immediately the traffic light turned red. I glanced at the rear mirror. Jason, Justin and Daisy were seated securely on their seats gazing at their mama driving. I laughed when Justin said something funny. His brothers replied almost immediately. I giggled more. These triplets of mine were my entire world. Today was the first day of school for the new academic term. The holidays were over and now I would have to adjust my daily schedule to fit my daily to-dos. I pulled up at the school, multiple parents were dropping their kids off too. I unfastened the chairs carefully letting each step out of the car. I gathered their bags and lunch bags and led them in. Mrs Kate, their teacher exclaimed happily when we came into her line of sight. "Good morning Ophelia!" She eagerly came around giving me a side hug. I laughed. "How are you, Kate?" "Oh, I'm good. Living like I always have been." She gave a hearty laugh. Her laugh was contagious, I laughed along too. "I see. It's been quite a while, holidays are over now." I shrugged at the bed of my sentence, handing her the bags I bore in arms. "We're back at this, huh?" She received the bags. Justin and Jason clustered around her. They sure did miss their teacher. Daisy clung to my leg; she was the most clingy one out of the three. I chuckled and picked her up. "What's up My Little Princess?" She sniffled shaking her head in the process. I mockingly gasped, "you don't want school?" She remained quiet. I looked over at her brothers who were staring at us. “Now run along.” I gestured and kissed her squarely on the forehead, pushing her towards her teacher and her brothers. I blew kisses to the boys and I was gone before Daisy would give me a reason to take her with me. My next destination was the store. I had goods arriving today and I had to go pick them up. I pressed the brakes at a red light. I finally decided to go pick up the arriving goods before going to my store instead of the reverse. It took me an hour and I was done. I arrived at the shop and opened up. The minute I flipped my sign to 'Open', customers flooded the shop. The first customer, although was an asshole. I was at the counter when she walked in. She was my neighbor even. Eunice and I never liked each other from the minute we set our eyes on each other. "Hi Eunice. Good morning." I smiled forcefully displaying my dentition. Eunice eyed the shop then I was next. She took her sweet time doing so and when she was done, she spoke. "Hello. I would like a silver jewelry set. I would be attending a wedding tomorrow and I need something shiny." I nodded. I gathered some silver sets I thought she would like. She rejected half of my store before she finally picked something. It was a very simple set that I had shown her at first. I continued smiling because if I stopped I would say something offensive. She paid and I had the jewelry set she had purchased packaged for her. "Thank you. Miss Ophelia?" I could sense where this was going and I diverted it immediately. "Just call me Ophelia." "You have three kids though and you're still a miss. How does that work?" She mocked glaring at me like I was a disease. “I'm not sure I understood what you mean by that.” I said narrowing my eyes at her. “Don't be confused. I'm saying I haven't seen the father of your kids. I'm wondering how that's possible when you have kids. ” Her brows raised with smudge playing on her face. I gritted my teeth taking a deep breath after. My wolf was begging to just have one swipe at this lady. When I remained silent she just picked up her package and began heading out. "Y'all should really find yourselves a title. You're neither a Miss nor a Mrs. Pick a side." I didn't let Eunice ruin my mood, sales were good today. I had gotten so lost in work that I didn't realize time had flown by. Glancing at the wall clock and realizing how late I was, I cursed and closed up rushing out immediately. On the way there I noticed a particular car following me. I didn't think much about it dismissing the thought of it. I thought to myself of being paranoid. They could just be going to pick their own children too. I met Kate at the school premises heading towards her car which made me raise my brows. She sighted me and a look of surprise crossed her face. “Ophelia you're here?” She asked facing me. “I'm here to pick my kids.” I reminded her, chuckling to conceal my growing nervousness. “Their uncle was here to pick them up.” She chuckled and my heart dropped “what!” All color draining from my face and my handbag slipped off from my hand.
