Chapter twenty two. Evelyn's POV. Olivia gasped, her eyes wide with shock, as she rubbed her face. Alex dragged me from behind, pulling me to face him. "What are you doing?" he whispered. I replied in a hushed tone, "I know what I'm doing, Alex. Trust me." Alex stared at me for a moment before releasing his grip. I turned to face Olivia, who looked at me in shock. "You and my husband had something going on, and you lied about him trying to kill me?" I accused, trying to act like I was angry. "Why would I lie?" Olivia shot back. "Did you think your accident just happened?" I smiled inwardly, knowing I'd pushed her to reveal more. I needed to know what had led to my "accident" and why they'd decided to kill me.
