Evelyn's POV.
It didn't take long for the sleeping pill to kick in, and Ethan fell asleep on the couch. I quickly got dressed, grabbed the car keys, and drove to Alex's office.
I arrived fast and apologized as soon as I entered his office. "Sorry I'm late."
Alex didn't say anything, so I pulled up a chair and sat across from him. "Good morning," he said, and I raised an eyebrow.
"This is new, you greeting me first?" I teased, but Alex just scoffed. "I'm teaching you manners."
Before I could respond, the door opened, and my eyes darted to the entrance. Mr. Adrian walked in, and I exclaimed, "Oh my!" I jumped up to hug him, and he hugged me back tightly. Mr. Adrian was like a father to me.
