Evelyn's POV.
I wondered what kind of person Alex was? No single empathy. How could I tell him that Ethan was married to someone else and he just shrugged it off like it was no big deal?
It wasn't his fault, really - he was just lucky I needed his help.
I just need to get done with this so we don't cross paths. Also there was no way I could keep paying him now that we were partners.
I pushed open the front door, removed my coat, and dropped it on the chair. Earlier, when Ethan left for work, I told Olivia I wanted to go for a stroll.
She offered to follow me, but I declined, knowing I was actually heading to Alex's office.
Now, feeling exhausted, I decided to take a rest. As I passed Ethan's room, I was startled by a woman's cry of pain.
