Chapter Eleven

"It was an ambush. They knew we were coming. If I ever find out who leaked the information to that gang, I'll..." He clenched both fists so tightly that his injured muscles twitched in pain. Tian ignored the threat and simply asked, "Status?" Fang took a slow breath. "Every one of us was injured." After a brief pause, he added, "None of us knows how we got to the hospital." Tian frowned, about to ask another question, when the door opened and a group of doctors entered the room. The man leading them stepped forward. "I am Yang Honkai, Chief of Surgery at this hospital. All of you were admitted in the early hours of the morning. Mr. Bo suffered the most severe injuries." His gaze settled on Tian with obvious curiosity. "As for you, there was almost nothing left for me to do. If you don't mind me asking... who treated you? It was a masterpiece. Without that treatment, none of you would have survived." Tian slowly shook his head. "I don't remember." A small part of his memory remained frustratingly blurred. Large, clear black eyes... a whirlwind... Nothing more. He wanted to know who had saved him just as much as everyone else. More importantly, how had that person known where they were and that they needed to be rescued? Dr. Yang quickly examined him before straightening up. "There is a visitor waiting outside. Shall I let him in?" Tian nodded. While the chief physician spoke with the nurses, another doctor carefully removed Tian's bandages. Every doctor in the room leaned closer to inspect the wound. When Dr. Yang took a small glass vial from his coat pocket and allowed several drops of a pale green liquid to fall onto the wound, the delicate fragrance of medicinal herbs immediately filled the room. The surrounding doctors watched with intense concentration. One of the older physicians spoke first. "Is this the medicine?" Dr. Yang nodded. Another doctor immediately asked, "Have we managed to identify its composition yet?" The chief physician let out a quiet sigh. "Analyzing it has proven to be extremely difficult. We've managed to identify some of the ingredients, but a significant portion remains unknown. I tested it on another patient who arrived too late. His wound had already become severely infected. This medicine eliminated the infection within half an hour." He shook his head in disbelief. "It's nothing short of miraculous." Turning back to Tian, he continued, "Mr. Bo, this vial was brought in with you. The person who delivered you told us it would not only prevent infection but also accelerate the healing process. Do you know who saved your life? Or who created this medicine? Could you introduce us to that person?" Every pair of eyes in the room shifted toward Tian. He remained silent for a moment before asking, "Is it really that important?" The doctors nodded almost in unison. "It could save countless lives," one of them answered. "Not only here, but also for the soldiers on the front lines. The effects are simply extraordinary." Tian slowly shook his head. "I don't know who saved me. But if I ever find out, I'll definitely mention the medicine and ask whether they're willing to meet you." The chief physician gave a satisfied nod before carefully applying fresh bandages. As the doctors prepared to leave, he turned back one last time. "Please, if you discover that person's identity, do everything you can to convince them to contact us." Tian nodded, and only after receiving his promise did the group finally leave the room. Barely had the door closed behind them when it opened again. General Bo stepped inside. Everyone except Tian immediately rose to their feet despite their injuries. The general acknowledged them with a nod before breaking into a broad smile. "You're all wounded, yet what you've accomplished..." He looked around the room with unmistakable pride. "Outstanding work. Every one of you deserves praise. There will be an official commendation, and I'd be very surprised if medals aren't awarded as well." His expression softened. "I only came to say one thing." He paused deliberately before saying, "Well done. I'm proud of all of you." At that very moment, his phone began to ring. He glanced at the display, answered it briefly, then looked back at the group. "Get some rest. You're all on medical leave for the next four weeks." Without waiting for a response, he turned and strode out of the room as quickly as he had entered. The team members were left behind, every one of them wearing the same bewildered expression. Tian frowned thoughtfully while Qiwei had already opened his laptop and was rapidly typing across the keyboard. "Boss, a mission report has already been submitted. According to the report, the entire organization was successfully dismantled." He suddenly paused, his eyes narrowing as he noticed another file. "Wait... there's an attached voice recording." He clicked on it. The room fell completely silent as the recorded confession played through the speakers. By the time it ended, no one said a word. Tian was the first to break the silence. "Has any part of the recording been deleted or edited?" Qiwei shook his head without hesitation. "No, Boss. I checked the metadata. It's complete." Tian slowly nodded before giving his next order. "Arrange our discharge. We'll recover at Fang's place. It'll be easier for everyone to stay together." The men nodded in agreement and began making the necessary arrangements before gradually leaving the room. Once the door closed behind the last of them, Tian remained sitting quietly on the hospital bed, his brows tightly furrowed. Someone had not only rescued his entire team from certain death but had also performed emergency surgery on him, provided a miraculous medicine that had left even the chief physician speechless, anonymously completed the mission by wiping out the entire criminal organization, obtained a full confession, written a flawless mission report, and then quietly handed all of the credit to his team without asking for so much as a single word of recognition. Whoever that mysterious person was, they had disappeared without leaving behind the slightest clue except for a blurred memory... and a pair of clear black eyes. Why?
