48 My head’s still foggy from the lack of sleep last night. Well, in the early hours of this morning, anyway. I couldn’t get back to sleep after hearing those noises. My brain wouldn’t let me. But it had come up with an idea, one which I needed to share with Kieran the moment I thought he might be awake. I left it until six o’clock, knowing this is the time his alarm goes off for work. He still sounded groggy when I phoned, but I was anything but. I told him he was right. I told him I couldn’t go on like this, that something needed to be done.
