Chapter 12: Identity Exposed

When Sang Wan woke up, her whole body felt like it had been run over by a car, and her entire bones were raw and painful. A fresh scent entered Sang Wan's nose, and she felt hungry. Opening her red eyes, she looked around. There was a silhouette in the corner, seemingly injured, with blood ghosting out of his neck. Sang Wan crawled over to it, her fangs lengthening. Suddenly, a jasper crown reflected the candlelight and pierced into Sang Wan's eyes. She pounded her head, trying to see clearly who this person in front of her was. But her eyes could never focus clearly. Biting her lips, Jasper Crown? Jasper Crown! Great White? Sang Wan was terrified. The lengthening nails pierced deep into the thighs. Sang Wan couldn't tell exactly where it hurt more! She staggered and crawled to a corner furthest away from Great White. Both hands pinched her legs, and the entire hem of her skirt was completely soaked in blood. Sang Wan's head was getting drowsy. She desperately tried to maintain what was left of her wakefulness. Wu Ya smirked outside the door and said, “Little one, suck the blood of this little Daoist and you'll be fine immediately. Otherwise, you will die!” “Scram!” Sang Wan squeezed a word out from between her teeth and once again fainted. The nails had penetrated deep into the flesh. The pain was becoming less and less clear. Sang Wan took out her right hand, stretched out a long fingernail, and stabbed it into her heart! The pain was too intense. Sang Wan's entire body began to tremble. “Sang Wan!” A hand reached over and pulled Sang Wan's hand away. Sang Wan violently pushed him away and once again reached out to stab herself in the chest. “Sister! Don't!” Great White's mournful voice rang out. Sang Wan cleared up a bit. “Great White, I'm sorry! I'm a vampire! You kill me and find a chance to escape.” Sang Wan pulled off the wooden hairpin on her head and tugged at the corner of her mouth, “Great White, your wooden hairpin saved my sister's life! You take it and kill me! I don't want to hurt you. You know what? I'm not from this world yet. I'm just a wisp of soul, if you kill me, maybe I'll go back to my world.” Sang Wan held Great White's hand and stabbed it towards her heart. Dabai's entire body shook, dropping the wooden hairpin in his hand and hugging Sang Wan tightly, “Sister, I said I would protect you!” Sang Wan smiled, her face full of happiness. Sharp teeth pierced her lips and blood gushed out. The head cleared up a bit temporarily. “Dabai, I didn't lie to you, in that world of mine, I live a good life, we're safe there. It's just that I've been compromising for one reason or another. But, once there is a first time, there will be a second time, and in the end, it will become so bad that you won't even recognize yourself. I don't want to become a vampire like Qing Yang and the others, I'd rather die! So, let it be that my sister begs you!” The hairpin was once again in Dabai's hand. He trembled his hands, not looking into Sang Wan's eyes. He confined Sang Wan in his arms, tears streaming down his face, “Sang Wan, you know what? I already consider you as my wife. A man should protect his woman.” The wooden hairpin shot out, slashing his neck and blood flowed. Great White was full of smiles, “I want you to live in my world!” Sang Wan muttered, “Qing Yang, I hate you!” The early morning sunlight poured into the window. Sang Wan opened her eyes, the blood in her heart had stopped. The dress was bloodstained. A wave of fear swept over her as she struggled to get up and stumbled towards Dabai's room. Great White lay on the bed in the azure colored robe. The robe was already filthy and equally bloodstained. Sang Wan stood at the door of the room, not daring to enter. Tears surged out of her eyes. She squatted on the floor in the doorway, embracing her knees and sobbing. After an unknown amount of time, a warm embrace hugged Sang Wan. Sang Wan tearfully looked at his face. Sang Wan laughed amidst her tears, “It's so good that you didn't die! It's so good!” The soft sobbing turned into bawling. Big White had a pampered look on his face, “Sang Wan, Sang Wan ......” Great White gently broke Sang Wan's hand that was almost frozen in her lap. Picked her up and went into his room. Big White squatted beside the bed and quietly looked at Sang Wan lying on the bed. Fortunately, she still lives in my world! Sang Wan drifted off to sleep. The next day, Sang Wan turned awake to see Great White lying on the floor beside her. She was much better and laughed softly as she got off the ground, pulling up Big White's arm and preparing to help him to sleep on the bed. As soon as she moved her arm, Great White woke up. A big smile was on his face. Sang Wan reprimanded, “Why are you sleeping on the ground? Sleeping on the ground with moisture entering the body, the body can't stand it! Not paying attention at all.” Big White's entire tone was filled with joy: “I'll pay attention in the future!” Only then did Sang Wan realize that this was Big White's room, and a blush covered her face. To hide it, Sang Wan inquired, “Great White, do you remember what was going on at that time?” Da Bai said, “Qing Yang rushed in then and fed you his blood. You kept sucking it for a long time before the wound in your heart stopped bleeding.” Sang Wan asked, “Did Wu Ya hurt you?” Great White answered honestly, “It was Qing Yang and Wu Ya.” Sang Wan realized in her heart that she was indeed the product of their boredom. I don't know whether the idea was Qing Yang's or Wu Ya's. Deep down, Sang Wan still hoped that it had nothing to do with Qing Yang, but the facts were here, Qing Yang did understand that he was unwilling to suck human blood. However, he set up this trap with Wu Ya! Was it for fun, or just to use himself as bait to kill Dabai? But why did he backtrack? Sang Wan suddenly realized, what about Big White being a Taoist priest? What should he think of himself? Sang Wan thought for a moment and said cautiously, “Bai Yunxu, I'm sorry for hiding my identity before. I'll be moving out today.” Dabai's smile froze on his face, and even the upturned corners of his mouth hadn't yet come to close. He was so raw that he said, “Sang Wan, what do you mean?” “You're a Taoist priest, I'm a vampire.” “So?” “I'll only harm you if I live with you.” “You can't leave. It's because I'm not strong enough, I'll try to cultivate myself here, I'll be strong enough to protect you!” Great White's eyes were filled with tears. It looked pitiful. He slowed down for a long time before he made up his mind and said, “You remember the first time you went out to hunt for food when you came to the capital, right? That time, I put a tracking charm to follow you.” Sang Wan looked up in surprise, “You knew about it then? Why did you ......” “I said that I would never leave you.” “But the situation is different now. You know who I am.” Great White had a firm face, “I'm not worried. You didn't even hurt me in that situation, so you'll be even less likely to hurt me in the future, and I'll be the one to protect you from now on!” There has never been a person who said to himself so firmly, “I will protect you.” Sang Wan's heart softened, she didn't let go of this warmth. Great White looked at Sang Wan, who had been silent, and said in a worried voice, “Do you dislike me for not being strong enough?” Sang Wan shook her head, “No, you are the strongest person I have ever seen. Look at this wound on your neck, I know you are strong. It's just that I'm scared.” Big White reached out his hand and touched Sang Wan's head, “Sang Wan, don't be afraid. We will definitely solve these problems!” Sang Wan smiled, her white cheeks filled with dirt. She nodded, “Good! Not afraid!”
