Chapter 4

Nevaeh's P.O.V

"Give me about ten minutes and then knock on the door. That should give me enough time to get to the door." I tell him as he's trying to go back out the window he came in. "Then just follow my lead. To bad we can't mind-link yet."

"OK baby. By the way you're looking extremely gorgeous." he comments making me blush.

As he goes out the window I rush to the front room just as there is a knock on the door. "I'll get it." I scream as I run to door.

"Who is it dear?" my mom asks as she and my dad walk into the front room.

"What are you doing here? Your kind isn't welcome in my home." my dad basically growls out.

I growl back and stand in front of Nate. "What is going on? You dare to stand against your family for him? Why?" my mom asks.

"Mom, Dad, meet Nate, my mate. And I don't care what you have to say I will not reject him nor turn my back on him. I don't know what everyone's problem is with his kind but he has hurt no one and has lived peacefully here for years." I rush out while grabbing Nate's hand. I look up to him and see nothing but love in his eyes and something else I can't decipher.

"Nevaeh you can't be serious? You would turn your back on us for him. Do you know what his kind is capable of."

"If I may." Nate speaks up slowly. "I know how bad the werejaguars are but those that are born of one or two jaguars are the ones that are bad and dangerous. I was born from none. I'm a rare case that was born from two werewolves. My dad killed my mom cause he thought she had an affair but that wasn't the case after the DNA result came in and it was proven he was my father. I l was gifted by the moon goddess herself. See I have an agreement with every alpha around here because of my gifts I get to finish school and not be in danger from all the packs. I have never told anyone about my gifts except the alphas. But you were an exception because you wouldn't meet with me." Nate explains and I'm all ears.

"What gifts could the moon goddess have given you that would make seven alphas sign a treaty with one of your kind?" my dad being alpha himself couldn't find any reason to trust him.

"Well that's the thing. The moon goddess spoke to me on the day of my first shift and told me a few things about eight different alphas. Including you sir." he had this dangerous look in his eyes as he spoke.

Nate's P.O.V

FLASHBACK 2 years ago

"Nate, tonight during your first shift I will grant you a gift but you must find your mate in order for it to become active." the most beautiful woman I have ever seen spoke to me.

"Who are you and what gift?" my mind was reeling with all kinds of questions.

"My dear son I am Selene the moon goddess. And I will be giving you the gift of untold knowledge beyond what the eyes can see." she tells me like I can understand what she means. "I see you are confused. Let me explain a little better. You will have the gift to see the future and know when someone is lying and what they are thinking. But you must find your mate for you to come into your powers."

END OF FLASHBACK

"So you see now that I've met Nevaeh my powers will be active as soon as I mark her." I look towards Nevaeh and see shock and sorrow in her eyes. But I don't know why she's feeling sorry for me.

"But still I do not trust you not to use those powers against us or for your own gain." He father says while putting an arm protectively around his mate.

"Dad, are you serious right now. You honestly think I would let him use his powers against my home and family. For real just because of the type of shifter he is." my mate screams at her father. "You know what fine then I'll just leave this pack and you can find another to take over when I'm gone. Remember I'm the first born from an alpha. If I leave then my brother takes over and he's far from alpha material." she smirks. Goddess I think this girl has stolen my heart in such a little amount of time.

"Fine. But I'll be keeping a very close eye on you."

Just as I'm about to shake his had the door busts open and the whole school walks in. "It's time to party! Where's the birthday girl?" I don't remember his name but I do remember he's one of my mates best friends. "Oh hell no. Who invited the freak." And here we go.

Nevaeh's P.O.V

"Oh hell no. Who invited the freak." Luke screamed at Nate.

"I did. So back off Luke." I growl at him.

"Why?"

"None of your concern. And if your gonna start problems then you can leave. I am future alpha of this pack and you are in my home. So either behave or leave."

Luke bows his head in submission as I say this. I turn to look at my dad and he understands that I need to make an announcement before I shift

"Ladies and gentlemen my daughter and your next alpha has an announcement to make before the party is in full swing." my dad's loud voice booms across the room.
