His lips curled into a slight smile. “You don’t have to get down just yet. I could drive a little closer to the house. No one’s rushing us.” She quickly shook her head. “No need, really. It’s just a minute walk,” she replied, forcing a chuckle. “Besides… it’s exercise for the baby,” she added, placing a hand on her belly as if that alone justified her need for distance.
