They both stared at me in awe as I stood trying to find a perfect excuse to use for my reaction. Peace for one didn't understand why I was totally against the idea of going to the stream considering my fondness for the stream.

"Buh I thought you've always wanted us to visit the stream. You were even ready to place a bet the other day on who was the best swimmer", peace reminded me calmly. I knew I was making my recent experience get the better of me. It was only a matter of time before my encounter with the stream mermaids would be discovered if I continued acting this way.

"It's not like that. I just don't really like the idea of swimming today", I defended

She didn't seem satisfied cos she continued looking at me suspiciously. I didn't want to let everything out so I had to agree with the dangerous idea of following them to the stream

We got to the stream and they quickly undressed and jumped into the stream while I sat by the rock, the very same rock Shakira had sat down last night when I was dere. The events of last night immediately started playing back in my mind slowly. I remembered her sad face when she came to check if I was Mark, a guy she claimed she caused his disappearance, I remembered Almira, the youngest of them all who was always inquisitive, then Sefira the calm one. I then started fantasizing about meeting them again and them being more friendly and accommodating this time. I fantasized about them turning to real humans and me taking them out with me into the human world. My mind slowly drifted back to their faces and I for once thought about their beauty. They were beautiful, no human I had met or was going to meet in the future was or would be as beautiful, gorgeous, elegant, delicate, fragile as the three fish ladies. They were just out of this world. I thought how people in the village will view me after seeing me with ladies as beautiful as the three fish ladies. While still lost in my imagination, I turned my eyes into the river and saw peace and her friend swimming buh my eyes caught sight of something else, something I didn't think much of until later probably because I wasn't paying much attention to it. I saw another lady swimming freely right under the water. She was actually really good at swimming under water, pulling stunts after stunts with ease. I turned my attention to her as I started admiring her swimming skills. She didn't seem disturbed by the water, it actually felt like her territory. I was still wondering how she could stay under the water for that long when I suddenly heard my name

"Nathan......Nathan",

I turned to see the two ladies already dressed

"What is that particular thing that could get u so engrossed by it", Peace's friend asked anxiously

"Didn't you see her?", I asked turning back to the part the mysterious lady had been swimming buh she had disappeared.

"Wait", that was when it dawned on me the lady that had been swimming actually had the body of someone I had seen before. I couldn't just be mistaken just like that, it was actually her

"Oga see who", peace asked wen she noticed I was acting strange

"Babe this your guy don dey act movie since, I no even understand him behavior again o", her friend frowned

"Baby what exactly is going on", peace asked passionately

"I'm sorry bae, I don't know. My mind seems to be playing tricks on me. I just need to rest. Please let's go", I lied standing up to her.

She held my hands and squeezed it gently. I felt cool about it as I did the same and she chuckled. We walked out and her friend followed closely behind. We had not even walked out wen we came face to face with Florence, a girl I had not seen since she followed that guy away from the mart.

"Babe what are u doing here. I came looking for u at you place buh u were not dere. What are u doing here", she looked really furious and it got my kinda surprised and happy in a way. Surprised cos I didn't know why she was upset, who between the both of us was supposed to be upset, I'm the one that got wronged by her not the other way round. And happy because if she was angry cos I was with peace that it was ok cos I wanted her to actually have a taste of her own stew

"Why are u looking for me", I asked calmly

"Let's go home. We'll talk once we get home", she tried to pull me away from her peace buh I dragged myself free from her. Something that made peace smile

"I'm not going anywhere with u. Infact I don't wanna see u", I immediately remembered wat I went thru in the hands of those guys last night.

"I wanna be alone", I freed myself from peace too and walked away
