Isla POV Vivienne smiled at me from across the room. Ronan noticed her gaze and turned toward Mr Vale and I, his eyes widening as he took in the scene — both of us on stage, the murmurs of praise still rippling through the crowd around us. How had Vivienne gotten here. She never attended this gala in my past life. Or at least I never remembered her being here. My face dropped. My fist clenched at my side as I bit my bottom lip, a feeling of discomfort and dread settling deep in my stomach. Had Vivienne been Ronan's partner at this gala in my last life? Had he invited her while I waited at home, praying for his success after adjusting the draft of his business plan, after wishing him good luck? Was Vivienne the one on his arm celebrating while I sat alone? I hated feeling this way. L
