Chapter 7

Max               It was the first morning in a longtime that the sun rose and I didn’t pay it any attention.  The sun ride on the beach has always amazed me that I refused to miss another sunrise, unless in dire circumstances.  I would say that these are they, especially with the woman I love more than life itself in my bed.             I had, of course, expected the situation to be different, you know the morning after our wedding.  I always wanted to make a Mrs. out of her.  But at this point, I’, trying to come up with the reasons why. Why would she play such a game of masquerade?  And I just can’t accept her reasoning.  I mean there are many women I’ve wanted to try out, but even I wouldn’t go such lengths.  Whatever happened to simply asking?             But the biggest thing is that I’m now a father.  I’ll put something’s off on my Tammy, but she wouldn’t have multiple partners in a short time period.  I only said it last night to hurt her feelings.  I can remember our conversation about monogamy…             “I’m the biggest advocate,” Tammy had said.  We were in my living room playing Wari. “I like to know that what’s mine is mine and that it won’t be shared.”             “Well, what about you?” I’d asked. “You talk about your man’s parameters, but are you free to do whatever?”             “Oh, no,” she cried.  “When I give myself to a man, I’m his and no one else’s until the grave, and sometimes a long time after that…                         Oh, this woman is magnificent.  I just pray she forgives me for my reaction last night.  I mean, it’s one thing to suspect, and a totally different thing to know.  It’s set in stone now though. I will be marrying this lady, and quite frankly, the sooner the better.
