He left an appropriate amount of space between us, a smile tugging at the corners of his mouth. The moment was surreal. I was certain it would be etched into my memory banks forever.When the song came to a close, he twirled me out of his hold, making me giggle. “This has been a dream, Ashley. Thank you.” I grinned and leaned in to make sure he heard my reply. “I’m glad you came, Dad.” I opened my mouth to suggest we headed to the elevator when a horror-movie-style scream rang out over the music. We both stilled, looking around to see what had happened.
