"Everything alright?" Aiden asked Bruno as they descended to the banquet hall.
Bruno looked away, leaving his question to hang. He was not in the mood to cackle.
"Sorry for asking! I didn't mean to overstep." Aiden awkwardly apologized, looking away.
Bruno did not appreciate the attitude. Axel would have prodded until his guts were out. Axel understood him more. Aiden used to understand him before the invisible gap pitted them against each other.
He had pushed him away for too long. He saw his efforts lately and how hard he tried to maintain communication. But all he did was give monotonous replies and nods.
