Chapter 5: Broken Lockette

Danielle's POV:

It's been a week since I got here and to tell you the truth, I kinda liked it here. Except for the fact that girls give you this killer glare every day. Plus, they have weird names for their group. But all in all, I love it and I'm just glad that everything is perfectly fine.

Trying to familiarize myself since Knight was out. He gave me permission to go out because he knows I'm not good at directions. The neighborhood creeps me out, all I can see are trees and more trees.

I think I'm lost. No wait! I'm definitely lost. Damn! No signal, just great. I should have stayed home and watched TV. I somehow missed a turn and now I'm in the middle of nowhere. Knight is going to kill me if he finds out that I'm lost. Okay! Danielle Lockette Everdyn, you can do this. All we need it to find someone and ask directions.

That is, if I can find someone.

I brought my bow and arrow and some spare clothes just to keep me safe. I walk deeper into the wood and after how many hours, I saw a big white house. I'm saved! But why is there a big house in the middle of nowhere.

Why worry about it if I can ask for directions and maybe some water since I've been exhausted from my search. I was about to knock when I heard a growl followed by a human scream. I have two options, I could run away or check it out. Me being me A.K.A being an i***t went for option two. I went to find where the growl and the scream came from.

After minutes of walking, I saw a guy. I think, his is in the age of thirties, who is injured and covered with his own blood and I also saw some wolves. I mean, big wolves and they are so many and they are surrounding the guy.

I climbed up a tree to have a better look. I also tried my best not to make a sound or else I'm doomed. I count the wolves and geez there are a lot of them. I turn to the guy, who is not scared at all. I mean if I were surrounded by these animals I'll be screaming to death.

Suddenly, these wolves turned to humans. Some were around my age, others were older and some are younger. I cover my mouth to make sure I'm not going to scream. I even slap myself just to make sure I'm not imagining stuffs. I took my cellphone out. But to my bad luck, it fell down. The good thing was, it landed on a grass so it didn't made any noise.

I was about to jump when I heard another growl. I turn around and I saw a golden brown wolf followed by four more wolves. The golden brown must be their leader. What confuses me most is that when the man saw their leader he just gave him a smirked.

That man is so creepy, he is not afraid of death. The golden brown wolf keeps on growling on him but the guy was just laughing. "Why should I tell you? I'm not telling you anything" the guy said. Did he just talked to the wolf? He can understand the wolf. He must be crazy! That's right he is. I can see the wolf is getting pissed so the wolf bite the guy which causes he to scream and more blood came off.

I tried with all my best not shout or else I'm so dead. "Is that all you got?" the guy smirked. The five wolves looked at each other. Second pass, the five wolves turned into a human and not just any human but the four wolves turn into Darylle, Kyle, Trevor and Jaden.

I was shocked! But what shocked me most, is that the golden brown wolf turned into Knight. Knight is a wolf and he didn't tell me. Maybe he was trying to tell when we went shopping? Trying to get back to my senses, I lost my balance and fell of the tree.

Xander's POV:

We heard a scream and something fell. I was shocked because it wasn't a something but a someone. And, that someone was Lockette. As she stands up, she picked up her phone and stared at us with sadness, shocked, but most of all fear.

She was shocked as I am "Danielle?" I heard Darylle said her name. She hasn't say anything but I know she was hurt. I can see tears in her eyes going down to her cheeks. I took a step forward but she took a step back. I couldn't believe that she is scared because of me. "Lockette I-" but I was cut. She shakes her head meaning that she wouldn't believe in anything I would say.

She quickly ran deeper into the woods. I was about to go after her but Darylle stopped me. As I stopped, Max the rogue laughed. I looked at him as he kept on laughing. "What's so funny?" I said, using my beta tone. "She beautiful, Too beautiful to be a prey." Max said and then he laugh again.

I quickly order some of my pack to lock him while the others to stay on guard and watch the pack house. I also order some of them to patrol just in case if another rogue shows up. While Darylle, Trevor, Kyle, Jaden and I looked for Lockette.

We ran deeper into the woods; we decided that we should split up so we can find her faster. "Xander! She will be fine. I assure you!" Darylle said through our mind link. "If something bad has happen to her, I WOULD NEVER FOGIVE MYSELF!" I answered back. Then I heard a scream. I know it's from Lockette! I mind link the others as I rush to where the scream came from.

I spotted Lockette on the grass, bleeding. A wolf scratches her left arm. I also saw two men with an arrow on their neck, dead. Lockette fought them all by herself and now she is wounded but she is still trying to reach her bow and arrow. The rogue was about to tackle her when I rush and shift into my wolf form. I was in front of Lockette when the rogue tackles me which made me fall down. He quickly bit my right shoulder which left me screaming into pain.

I tried to fight back but the rogue is still biting my shoulder. He stop for a moment then licked his lips. He was about to bite my other shoulder when an arrow hits his neck, their weak spot. I look around when I saw Lockette. My vision started to disappear but before everything turns black, I heard Lockette called my name.

Shine's POV:

Today is the day I went back to the pack house. I'm so excited to be back along with my partner in crime A.K.A. my twin brother Crypton. When we reach the pack house I felt something strange. As we got off the car one of the warrior approach us "Alpha, Beta Alexander is-". He didn't finish his sentence because we already knew what he meant by that.

We both rush inside and head straight upstairs. Walking up, I saw a familiar girl about our age, a girl with a light brown blonde hair, crying. "Danielle!" I called. When she heard her name she turned to me. I can see a lot of emotions in her crystal blue eyes scared, fear, sad, guilt, shocked, but mostly confused and broken. "Shine!" she said as she approached me.

Danielle and I know each other. We were roommates she tells me everything and the same goes to me. I hugged her like there was no tomorrow same goes with her. "I missed you!" I said. "I missed you too" She said as we break apart and wipe her tears. I missed her but why she here and covered with blood. I mean does she know our secret?

"How do know where I leave and what happen to you?" I asked to make sure if she knows anything. She looked at me in a confused look "You lived here?" She asked and I nodded. "Then that means?" She asked tears forming in her eyes. "You, Knight, all of you?"

Wait, If she say Knight that means Xander is a wolf? I never got a chance to meet him because I was away for years. All I know that Crypton has a best friend and Beta name Xander. She started to cry again. "I'm so stupid. If I hadn't gone out, I would never get lost and Knight won't get hurt." She said. I put my hands on her shoulders trying to calm her down.

"Let's get you cleaned up. You are covered with blood." I said. She shake her head. "No! I'm not going anywhere; I need to see if Knight is alright. If anything happens to him, I swear to god, I would never forgive myself." She said wiping her tears away.

The doctor finally came out and went to Crypton. He was about to say something when Danielle interrupt. "How is he?" she asked full of concerned. The doctor smiled at her and told her that he was okay. "Can I see him now?" she asked. "He is now resting you could see tomorrow when he- “said the doctor but Danielle cut him. "I want to be the first person he see when he wakes up!" She demanded.

The pack doctor looked at her in a confused look "Your arm is bleeding! please let me help you with that!" he said. "I don't care what happens to me. All I care right now is Knight! Please! I'm begging you! I need to see him." She burst out and tears started to fall.

Poor Danielle! She doesn't deserve any of this. "You don't know what's going on! So I suggest that"- said the doctor but again Danielle cut her. "I KNOW WHAT'S GOING ON! I KNOW THAT THE MOST IMPORTANT PERSON IN MY LIFE IS INSIDE AND HIS HURT BECAUSE OF ME! ABOVE ALL, I JUST FOUND OUT THAT HE CAN SHIFT INTO A WOLF! NOT JUST KNIGHT BUT ALL OF THEM! IN SHORT, YOU GUYS ARE ALL MONSTERS!" Danielle shouted while pointing at Trevor, Darylle, Kyle, and Jaden.

Danielle was so down; she sits on the floor crying. She looked at her bleeding arm. "I don't care about myself anymore. All I care about is knight. Please I'm begging you! I want to be right by his side." She said wiping her tears. I approach to comfort her. That's all I can do for her. I beg the doctor to let Danielle see him even though the doctor. He didn't agree at first but then agree to let Danielle see him if they treated her wounds.

Crypton is still talking to the pack doctor when Danielle approaches them. "Uhm Doctor! I'm sorry about earlier I didn't mean to shout! I'm so sorry!" She said and she really is. The doctor patted her shoulder. "It's okay. I didn't understand at first but when Shine explains it. I'm the one who should be sorry." said the doctor. They both hugged each other.

When Danielle was about to enter the room, Crypton suddenly grabbed her arm which made the rest of us stared at them, looking confused and shocked. Danielle turned to my brother shocked while my brother smiled at her. "Don't worry! He'll be alright. I promise." Crypton said. Danielle just nodded and hugged my brother and he hugged her back.

She was the first girl to hug him like that and she is also the first girl that Crypton hugged. Don't count me and my mother. I mean, she is the first who isn't part of our family. There are lots of girls who are willing to do anything just to get a hug from my brother but they can't because they have to go through me first.

They got separated and I can see my twin brother blushed. That's a first. Danielle thank him and went inside the room.

Sky's POV:

When Autumn and I rushed upstairs I smelt an intoxicating smell it was a smell of roses and vanilla!

"Mate" my wolf growled. as soon we got close I smell got stronger from there I saw a girl, about our age crying. "Danielle!" my sister called and the girl turned to her. She's so beautiful, light brown blonde hair and with crystal blue eyes. Man! She’s perfect! I'm speechless! My wolf was more excited than me even though she was a human. So this is the girl that I'm so curious about and now I know why and Xander was right about her and I'm a little bit jealous that she gets to hang out with Knight.

I just stared at the two girls and my mate, my poor mate crying! And I can't do anything. “Why don't you comfort her" Daemon, my wolf said. I wanted but I just can't do it. I was interrupted when Nathan, the pack doctor came out. He was about say something when Danielle interrupts.

"How is he?” she asked full of concerned. The doctor smiled at her and told her that he was ok “can I see him now" she asked. “He is now resting you could see tomorrow when he- “said the doctor but Danielle cut her.

“I want to be the first person he see when he wakes up!" she demanded. Man! She really cared about Xander and I can feel my wolf's jealousy. “Calm down Daemon! She doesn't what's going so don't be so jealous! I trust Xander ok!" I told Daemon.

"You don't know what's going on! So I suggest that"- said the doctor but again Danielle cut her. "I KNOW WHAT'S GOING ON! I KNOW THAT THE MOST IMPORTANT PERSON IN MY LIFE IS INSIDE AND HIS HURT BECAUSE OF ME! ABOVE ALL, I JUST FOUND OUT THAT HE CAN SHIFT INTO A WOLF! NOT JUST KNIGHT BUT ALL OF THEM! IN SHORT, YOU GUYS ARE ALL MONSTERS!" Danielle shouted while pointing at Trevor, Darylle, Kyle, and Jaden.

I felt my heart was torn into tiny pieces after hearing those words. "Monsters? She called us monster?" Daemon said. Even my wolf was hurt but I know that she didn't mean it.

My mate is hurt and I can't comfort her. Good thing Autumn is there.

I want to be right by his side." She said wiping her tears. Autumn approach her and comforted her. She beg the doctor to let Danielle see him even though the doctor didn't agree at first but then agree to let Danielle see him if they treated her wounds.

After thirty minutes Danielle approaches me and Nathan. I can see her wounds are now treated. While the doctors are treating her wounds Shine told the Nathan about Danielle and the reason she just burst out.

"Uhm Doctor! I'm sorry about earlier I didn't mean to shout! I'm so sorry!" She said and she really is. The doctor patted her shoulder. "It's okay. I didn't understand at first but when Shine explains it. I'm the one who should be sorry." said the doctor. They both hugged each other.

I growled but not too loud so nobody can hear it. When Danielle was about to enter the room. I quickly grabbed her arms. I felt that everybody except Nathan, he already left, stared at us shocked. Danielle face me with shock I smiled at her " Don't worry he'll be alright! I promise" I said. Danielle just nodded and hugged me and I hugged her back.

Best feeling ever, but I had to let her go! As she went inside and sits beside Xander I felt a little bit of jealousy “Mate" I muttered. I heard everyone gasped. Except for the doctors they left already! My Sister approaches me and hugged me. “I’m so happy for Crypton!" she said.

“Sweet, We had a Luna!" Trevor said. Everyone was happy well except for me “What’s wrong Crypton?" my sister asked me. “I don't know what to do Autumn. I can't just burst into her life like that. she is still in lot of pain and right now all I can do is to wait" I said.

Autumn comforted me and told me that everything will be alright and she also told me that I must trust Xander because he is the only guy that Danielle trusts right now. I felt mixed emotions happy because I found my mate but at the same time sad because I could just enter in her life just like that. “I felt sorry for our Mate! There’s nothing I can do for her" my wolf told me.

I agreed I just hoped that Xander will tell Danielle everything. I decided to visit Xander. The door was open and I can see Darylle talking to Danielle while Danielle is holding Xander's hand. My wolf growled he is a little bit jealous “Calm down! Xander is not going to steal my mate!" I said. “But what if Danielle loves Xander I mean you forgot what Danielle said; the most important person in my life and that is not you but Xander" my wolf told me.

I didn't argue with my wolf I just went to my room and let sleep control me.
