Michael's P.O.V
I watched Ellie go in the lift and once the doors closed, she was gone. I turned my attention to Victoria. She just stood there with the smuggest look on her face, her hands on her hips, trying to hard to make herself pout.
'It's not sexy, so cut it out. And while we're at it, drop the jealous girlfriend act!'. I scolded her and walked off. I didn't care if she followed me or not.
I arrived back at the bar and the pack were still outside, Sitting down on the sand once again, Victoria sat next to me. Why was she being so clingy?
'How was Ellie? Did she get home OK?' Steve asked. I nodded.
'Yeah, No problems'. He smiled and turned to continue his conversation with his girlfriend. I sure as hell wasn't going to tell them in front of the girls... Or Victoria, that she basically had a breakdown in the street.
It would just them another reason to be bitches to her. I'm not stupid, I know they were rude to Ellie when she was here before, and I made clear to the pack to get their girls in line or they wouldn't be welcome around us anymore.
They understood.
The drink I had before I left to find Ellie was still sat in front of me, but little particles of sand were now floating on top.
Nice.
I pulled my phone out of my pocket, just wanting to check the time, but before I could, It was snatched away, My head snapped up at the culprit.
'Give me my phone, now.' I told her, in a low, warning voice.
'Why? Need to check up on your precious little victim?' There was so much hate in her words, I honestly couldn't believe what she was saying.
I instantly got to my feet and pulled her up onto hers. The pack was looking at us, but I didn't care. SHE was the one making a scene, not me.
'We'll be right back'. I told them, Pulling her away from the group and to a more private area to talk. 'What the f**k has gotten into you?' I questioned. She just rolled her eyes and crossed her arms, Her actions pissed me off more.
'What is going on with you and that girl?!'
'Nothing! She needed a friend, What's the issue?!' She scoffed.
'Oh please, you were all over her!'.
'I had my arm around her because she was upset. It's what friends do!'.
'I want you to stop seeing her.' I had to take a moment, Was she serious? When her expression didn't change, it was obvious she was.
'Why?'
'You're getting to close to her.'. I shook my head.
'You're insane. Nothing is going on, I'm being a good friend! Nothing more!'. I raised my voice slightly, getting even angrier
'You're getting to close to this one, I'm not asking, I'm telling, Stay away from her!'. Before I could even open my mouth to tell her she had no right to order me around, She headed back to the group.
Shaking my head in anger, I stormed back into the bar to order myself a drink, preferably one with no sand...
Paying and picking my pint up, I walked out, letting the salty night air hit me. I loved living with a beach right on my doorstep, It was so peaceful and relaxing, and if there was ever any trouble, Me and the boys soon put a stop to it.
This was our town and it was OUR job to protect it and the people who lived here.
'-He says there's nothing going on'. I heard Victoria tell her girlfriends. With curiosity getting the better of me, I stopped and listened for a little while. 'But I don't believe him'.
'You should have been here earlier. Lapping up all the attention the guys were giving her, she was loving it'. Well, That wasn't true.
'I was so glad when she left. She shouldn't be interfering with our business or our men'. I rolled my eyes at the stupid insecurities of these women.
Ellie is literally the most harmless person I've ever met and here these women were, Sat around being nasty about a woman they didn't even know!
'You know, Pete told me what happened that night, I'm not so sure she wasn't asking for it!'. Hearing that comment made my blood boil! My free hand balled into a fist.
'Oh really?'. Someone ''Hmm''ed.
'I mean, come on, you saw her. What woman sits around, begging for the attention of men who aren't even single'.
'A slut'. That was victorias comment. That's it. I've had enough.
Walking back over to them, everyone looked up at me. I didn't even hide my anger.
'Right, You girls need to leave, Now!'. The guys looked at me, Confused, but no one moved. 'I said NOW!'. As soon as I yelled, Everyone jumped to their feet, and with a few worried and concerned looks to their boyfriend, the girls scurried off.
'What was that about?' Ozzy asked me. I just looked at them.
'I don't want them, girls, around when we meet as a pack again, Do you understand me?' They lowered their heads slightly in respect and nodded. 'Good!'.
It had been a few hours since the girls left, and my phone hadn't stopped ''pinging'' since. It was Victoria, so I simply ignored it.
'Trouble in paradise?' Steve joked. I looked up from my phone, all my friends were staring at me. Sighing, I put the device down and picked my drink up, taking a sip.
'Trust me, It isn't paradise'.
'What's up?' Running my fingers through my hair, frustrated, I thought for a moment whether opening up to them about the whole situation was a good idea.
AH, f**k it.
'Has Victoria always been such a b***h?' Maybe I was blind to it before. No one said anything, I guess that was my answer. 'Recently, she's been so unbearable'.
'It's because she knows' I looked up at Pete. Confused by his statement.
'What do you mean?' Thes just laughed together. 'Seriously, am I missing something here?'
'You and Victoria were never really... A match, but you and Ellie... Mate, there is definitely a connection.' The guys all ''Mmmm''ed in agreement.
'It's like, You have the kind of connection that is there emotionally, but we can see it just by looking at the pair of you'.
I remained silent as I listened to all of there comments and observations, but then it was my turn to talk.
'Well.. big picture guys, She's young and very vulnerable at the moment. She's just been through a really horrific event in her life and I doubt she's looking for any romance right now'.
'She clearly likes you'. I shook my head.
'It doesn't matter, it's not happening'.
After a little more conversation, We said our goodbyes and headed home in separate directions. Deciding to take a long way home, I passed Ellie's hotel and looked up. I knew what floor she was on, and I knew what room was hers.
The light was on. Was she awake?
I closed my eyes and thought back to that night;
I was just walking down the street with my friends, as I did most nights, and suddenly, it was like a wave of panic rushed over me. I didn't know what it was or where it came from, but something told me, something bad was happening.
I was confused but followed my natural instincts. The pack shifted, sensing my worry, but I didn't.
I remember running, running down the street, not sure where I was going, but... Knowing which why I had to go Until I reached the Alleyway.
It was dark and foul, I couldn't see anything... but something wasn't right.
We went down a bit further... We heard what was happening before we saw it, but once we did, the pack attacked the man and I saved the girl.
Ellie.
The second I saw her, I felt the connection.
She passed out, I couldn't just phone someone, I needed to make sure she got the care she needed. I told the boys to take care of the piece of trash who did this.
As I walked away, holding the girl, I heard what they were doing.. Ripping him apart.
He deserved it.
I carried the girl all the way to the hospital and never left her side the whole time Until she woke up, and I had that very first conversation with her...
I opened my eyes again and shook my head. The light in her room went out, Smiling, I carried on heading home, knowing I'd see her tomorrow...
