Chapter 1

Minnie’s point of view: “Where are my pink shoes?" My sister Ellie asked me."I'm not sure. Why not check under your bed?" This was Ellie, my sister. We came out of our mother's womb one after the other, but I had to be called "older sister" because I was born before her. It wasn't fair at all. As a child, whenever I got into a fight with Ellie, my parents would always tell me, "Minnie, you're the older sister. You need to give in to your younger sister.”She would then have every right to take everything I had, like my beloved teddy bear, the pretty dress I liked, and my parents' love. It could be because of this that we were such wildly different people in terms of how we looked and dressed.I mostly followed the rules and did everything the right way. About Ellie, she never even called me "sister." She just called me Minnie. She had always been very disrespectful to me and somehow, she always had her way with everything. I was the one always expected to show good values and examples while she was the one that could behave as she wished without any repercussion.Since we were kids, it had always been this way. I brushed my hair and looked at myself in the vanity mirror. Ellie and I turned 18 years old today. We also had the most important day of the year. It would be a big event for all the werewolves in our pack to see us turn 18.Aiden was the leader of our pack. He stood six feet five inches tall and looked good. Aside from that, he was my boyfriend. I'd been with him for 13 years. I had shared many important events in my life with him, such as the death of his father and his rise to become Alpha of our pack. I never thought an Alpha could be my lover. Compared to Ellie, I had always been just another face in the crowd. But Aiden was always there for me when I was feeling down or couldn't decide what to do. When Ellie and I were young, we did what kids do on Halloween and went trick-or-treating. Ellie didn't like being cold, so she didn't want to keep going after asking two places for candy. After I told her not to, she ran home by herself. I had to go through a lot of trouble to get a bag of candies from dozens of homes. After a long day, my hands and feet were very cold when I got home. I saw Ellie pouting and hugging our parents by the fireplace. I wanted to show our parents my collection of candies because I thought they would like it. But my dad told me I wasn't taking care of Ellie and that I left her to cry her way home in the snow. Ellie did not look at all like she was cold when I looked at her. I was the one who was cold and took the blame. I had to give Ellie all the candy because she wouldn't stop crying. Then she was allowed to sleep in the big bed with our parents, and I was told to think about what I did wrong in the small bed in my room because I couldn't take care of my sister. I was tired and hungry as I lay in bed by myself. I was angry about it. Then I climbed out of the window without anyone seeing. Werewolves had much better bodies than normal people, and I had always had the best body of all my friends. I had a good body but not better than my sister’s own.I was really tall for a girl. I had walked around the streets by myself, looking for candy that other kids might have dropped. That's when I met Aiden for the first time. Back then, he was still a youth and not as tall or strong as he is now, but he already had the powerful way of an Alpha. He was tall. Around 6’3 with straight white teeth that looked fake. He also had a butt chin and he had a little goatee under his chin.He smelled really nice and carried great charisma around. He asked me with a frown, "What are you doing here?" "I need to get some candy." "No one is giving out candy right now." He gave it some thought and then pulled a chocolate bar out of his pocket. "I'll give it to you." I felt like the Moon Goddess sent Aiden to save me when I took the chocolate from him. I remembered that night the moon was very bright and the stars were twinkling. I was touched by him at that moment. After that, Aiden and I went on a lot of dates in the woods. It was that night that I told Aiden about my family. I told him it was cold that night, I was mad at myself before I met him, and I was glad I did after meeting him."What did you do?”“I refused to say sorry to Ellie when my parents asked me to. Ellie just cried over and over, looking for an apology.”Aiden asked me, "And then what happened?" "Then I cried because I felt cheated. But they only wanted to comfort Ellie, and they even asked me to give them all the candy I had found.”“In spite of this, Ellie is not their only daughter. I live with them and am their daughter. Tell me about it; I remember it well after all this time.”“ Are you upset with me?" I asked after, feeling ashamed. He did not reply."Did you give her the sweets after?" "Yes, I did. They told me I had to give in to my younger sister because I was the bigger sister.”"You're fine. You're the coolest girl I've ever met, but you need to be more sure of yourself.”Aiden hugged me, and when his eyes met mine, they were full of faith. My heart felt warm in a way I had never felt it before. No one had ever backed me up, told me I was doing the right thing, or praised me. "Thank you very much. You saved my life. I'm so glad I met you.” It was the best day of my life. “I love you more than all my family,” I said to him. Then he hugged me and I curled up next to him. Aiden told me, "I am your family. You will be my wife, and the pack will call you Luna." In the same way, I thought that the Moon Goddess had planned for us to be together. This was the worst day of my life, I could faint right now if I had to.together.
