Chapter 5

Minnie’s point of view: I took my time to dress very well and I stood in the mirror admiring myself .My dress sense was not exactly superb but I tried sometimes to dress really fancy.Everyone always complimented my sister and never gave me compliments. The only compliments I got when I dressed were good girl compliments like, “nice,” “you look okay.”Unlike my sister who got compliments like “wow, hot!” Or “you look amazingly ravishing”I stood by the mirror and I doubted that this look was good. I know that Ellie would complain about this. There’s nothing I ever did that looked good for her. There was no need to stand and keep cross checking my outfit.I had a meeting with Arnold and Ellie to put more things in place for the visitation we were having with the lycan king.I hopped into the car and I went there. When I reached, Arnold and Ellie were already there and Ellie was giving orders to the servants and telling them what to do.When she saw me she let out a disappointing smirk and covered her mouth like a laugh wanted to run out of it.I paid ninmind and walked up to them, greeted Arnold and was set to start my work.“Ellie why are you looking at me like that?” I questioned her."Okay, you need to go back." She said.“Why should I go back?”“I don’t like this dress. You shouldn’t wear it tomorrow.”“So what should I do?”"Remember to wear the dress I told you about tomorrow." I waved my hand to show that I acknowledged her. When I got to the venue's front door, I looked at myself. Yes, Ellie was right. I looked awful. My ash coloured dress was wrinkly and looked like it had food spots from two days ago. The dust was also on my shoes. I looked at the polished column by the door and saw myself there. My hair looked like a bunch of weeds. My lips were dried, my face was pale, and my eyes were cloudy. With my hands, I tried to make my hair straight. It wasn't useful. I sighed. I would go back, take a shower, and clean up after checking out the place. I could no longer be so messy. The place was decorated in a very fancy way. On each side of the hall, there were two rows of eating tables. There were wine glasses and silverware on the tables that were all shiny and clean. Also there were bottles of very good red wine that had not been opened. Fine food and snacks would be served here when the Lycan King arrived.“Hey, Minnie!”Then I turned around because I thought I heard a call, Arnold was running to meet me, out of breath. "What is it?" I asked Arnold."The Lycan King is here early! I saw the royal family while I was on duty. They're likely to be here soon.”“What?" We didn't expect this to happen a whole day early. "Thank goodness we're almost done setting up the place." "I already told someone to tell Luna Ellie," Arnold said quickly.“After work, I'll bring the Lycan King here with Ellie. You will be in charge of this front desk. Is that all right?" “Not a problem." I didn’t care at all about how I look. First I told the people who worked in the kitchen to start getting the food ready. Then I told the servants to do their jobs. After that, I sent someone to tell the group that the Lycan King had arrived and to hurry. I set everything up without stopping. It didn't take long for a messy crowd to fill the space. The women came quickly, but they took their time getting ready before leaving the house. All of them were dressed very nicely and had beautiful makeup on. Being in front of the Lycan King made me wish I looked better. He was the most powerful and honorable man in the world of werewolves. Ellie had a point. There is no girl who wouldn't want him. Being Luna's older sister made me feel a little bad, but I was glad to stand next to her so the Lycan King would see me. I stood still in a corner, though, because I didn't want to think too much.“Hey, isn't this Minnie?" I heard a soft female voice. It was someone I knew. Serena, Ellie’s worst enemy, was there. I had to go through something else that did not feel right. A lot of people liked Ellie, but I didn't catch any of her fame. It only made me feel bad about myself and ashamed. But her biggest enemies would turn their anger toward me at the same time. They would make fun of me every time they saw me. I didn't get why. They liked hurting me even though they knew it wouldn't hurt Ellie. Even though I didn't want to, Serena made it clear that she wasn't going to let me off the hook. “Look, what does Minnie have on? Is this a cloth?" Some people around her paid attention to her because she teased loudly. Everyone laughed. This is how it always was. I had no one speak up for me. "You want to meet the Lycan King in clothes that are so torn.”“What will the Lycan King think of our pack if he learns that Luna's sister works as a maid? You're really making us look bad." As I clenched my fists, I had to say, "Everything in this venue was planned by me. I'm the one who helped the pack the most!" "Did you set it up? In this case, everyone knows that Luna is in charge. She would get the credit, even if you did it.”I think I had forgotten about that.“ You always thought you'd be Luna, right?” Serena said as she made a funny face. "I'm trying to remember who told us that the Alpha would make her the tribe's Luna?" “Well, it turned out that her younger sister took her boyfriend away on the day she turned 18.”“Your sister is the pack's Luna, and she is meant to be with the Alpha. Are you good enough to be the leader of our pack?"
