##CHAPTER THREE ## Smooth. Very smooth. One dark eyebrow lifted. Interesting. “Not Bianca Sinclair?” Actually.. elena spoke before remembering she was here specifically to destroy this date. Oh I mean Bianca” Elena is usually the name I say to other men she answered nonchalantly Silence Damien stared at her for a long moment Then unexpectedly he laughed. Not loudly, Just one quiet, surprised laugh. And somehow that felt more dangerous than if he’d gotten angry. “Interesting he replied ” “She panicked, but took a deep breath. chewing her gum loud enough for people to look at their table with disgust So you are the ceo and you own the company right ? She asked while gripping her dressed hardly and her legs were shook nervously. Obviously from the pressure of facing him Not really he replied. Although I own the company, it’s not really mine. I just got back so it may take some time to stabilize my place here That’s it. You won’t have enough time for me and I like my man clingy and always at my beck and call so you are not cut out for it He looked at her mockingly and scoffed noticing how scared she is but trying to act like a meany The corner of Damien’s mouth lifted slightly as he swirled the whiskey inside his glass. OH “Yes,” Elena continued boldly, pretending confidence she absolutely did not feel, “and while we’re at it, why not have the time of our lives?” Damien leaned back in his chair slowly, gray eyes watching her with dangerous amusement. “……….” The silence nearly broke her nerves. Then she forced another reckless smile. “And after that maybe we book a hotel for some fun tonight.” Still— he said nothing. Elena’s heart pounded harder. Why wasn’t he reacting? Why did he look so calm? “Oh,” she added quickly, trying to sound experienced, “and we’re getting drinks too. To make it more interesting.” Finally Damien spoke. “Hotel. Drinks. Fun.” His deep voice rolled smoothly through the air. “Interesting choice of first date activities.” Elena crossed her arms defensively. “Yes. This is how I do my stuff. If you can’t handle it, then we have no reason being together.” She expected him to get offended. Or leave. Or lecture her. Instead— Damien’s eyes darkened with something unreadable. “It sounds fun actually,” he said calmly while reaching for his phone. “Hold on. Let me book a room.” Elena’s soul practically left her body. WHAT?! He agreed?! He was actually booking it?! Shouting inwardly as panic exploded through her instantly. “Oh my God…” Damien looked up briefly. “Problem?” “No!” she squeaked too quickly. “No problem at all.” Meanwhile internally: VERY BIG PROBLEM. “Excuse me,” she blurted suddenly while standing up so fast her chair almost fell backward. “I—I would like to go to the restroom.” Before he could answer, Elena grabbed her purse and hurried away like her life depended on it. Because honestly—it did. — The moment she entered the restroom, Elena locked herself inside a stall and dialed Bianca immediately. The call connected after two rings. “Hello Bianca,” Elena whispered frantically. “I’m messed up.” “What happened?” Bianca asked instantly. “Are you arrested? Did you get beaten? Did he do something to you?” “Bianca,” Elena groaned dramatically, “this is something worse.” Silence. Then cautiously: “What did you do?” “I told him to book a hotel room tonight and he AGREED.” A horrified scream exploded through the phone. “WHAT?!” “I KNOW!” Elena what’s wrong with you?! Why would you say such a thing. “OH MY GOD”
