# Chapter One##
“Elena, if you have any ounce of love for me, you’ll do this.”
Elena Rivers looked up from her laptop with deep suspicion already forming.
Her best friend Bianca Sinclair stood dramatically in the middle of Elena’s tiny apartment wearing a cream designer coat that probably cost more than her living expenses for a month.
That was Bianca:
rich, beautiful, chaotic.
And usually dangerous to listen to.
“No,” Elena said immediately.
Bianca blinked. “You don’t even know what I’m asking yet.”
“I know your face. That expression means disaster and I’m not gonna be part of it .”
Bianca dropped onto the couch beside her with a groan.
“My mother set me up on another blind date.”
“Ah,” Elena said flatly. “There it is.”
Bianca’s family belonged to old-money elite society. Every few weeks, some billionaire heir or politician’s son appeared at another expensive dinner Bianca desperately wanted to escape.
Usually, Elena covered for all her blind dates
Apparently tonight, she had come specifically for Elena.
“I need you to go in my stead she begged .”
Elena stared at her.Then laughed.Then realized Bianca wasn’t joking. “Oh, absolutely not.”
“Please.”
“No.”
“You don’t even have to stay long!”
Don’t tell me you actually forgot what happened the other times I went for your blind dates.
“No this one is different, Just go there, ruin the date for me, and leave.”
Elena nearly choked.
“Ruin it?”
“Yes.” Bianca sat upright excitedly now.“Be weird. Be awkward. Spill wine on him. Start talking about conspiracy theories. I don’t care.”
Elena folded her arms looking at her with the weirdest look and said it’s actually the same thing
Remember when I went on your blind date with Wilson, how u made me become an exorcist just to ruin your blind date and how I got arrested for it ,
“You are a terrible person. Elena said calmly.”
“I’m a desperate person.”
Elena shook her head and returned to her laptop.
“I have orientation tomorrow morning at my new job. I’m not spending tonight humiliating some random man because you refuse to act like an adult.”
Bianca grabbed her arm dramatically and wined . “This isn’t some random man.”
“That makes it worse.”
“He’s apparently some terrifying billionaire CEO.”
Elena snorted softly. “Even worse.”
Bianca lowered her voice ominously.
“My mother says women practically throw themselves at him.”
“That sentence alone guarantees he’s unbearable.”
“Exactly,” Bianca said triumphantly. “So he deserves it.”
Elena laughed despite herself.
Her new job started tomorrow at one of the biggest corporate companies in the city. After months of unemployment and overdue bills, she finally had stability again.
She was not risking that by getting involved with arrogant rich men.
I’ll pay for the services, Bringing out a credit card she handed it to Elena. Take it this is two hundred thousand please just do this last favor for me I’ll be your best friend for life.
Elena looked at her aggressively. Keep your money I don’t need it I only said I’m not going there’s no need for you bribing me.
Bianca clasped her hands together.
“One hour. Please.”
“Fine,” Bianca corrected quickly. “Thirty minutes.”
“You’re unbelievable.”
“And you’re my best friend.”
I hate you for it
And I love you so much
Who told you I’ve agreed ? Hmph Elena groaned loudly.That was the problem Bianca knew exactly how to wear her down and of course it works all the time.
