CHAPTER THIRTEENVivian was conscious of movement and of strong arms holding her firmly and giving her a sense of security that penetrated into her drowsiness. Then gradually her brain began to take control over her senses. She opened her eyes but for a moment she was still too hazy and too drugged to grasp reality. Her head was against Alec’s shoulder and she could see the firm line of his chin as he looked beyond her, guiding his horse while she lay across the bow of his saddle.
