Chapter 10

Yaroslava's POV ‌‌‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌‌ ‌‌ ‌‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ Listening to what was going on around me, I couldn't tell where Jan was in the house. Rightly thinking that my agreement with his words didn't mean that he would do the same, I grabbed the doorknob again and turned it. The sound was barely audible. But that didn't help me. “Yara!” A vicious growl came from the corridor. I sighed heavily and started pulling out the contents of the bag Jan had brought. The black dress looked quite nice, and the designer label on the untrimmed price tag added to the excitement of the new outfit. The hiccup came a little later when, after the dress, I pulled out something that obviously served as underwear in someone's sick imagination. “What the f**k?!” A black lace bustier, unencumbered by an inch of thick fabric, woven from solid translucent lace with slits in the front, the same shameless stockings and panties that I felt covered nothing whatsoever, fell from my hands. “If you don't like it, you can just wear the dress,” Jan said phlegmatically, still out of sight. “I didn't know what you liked, so I took the first one I could find.” I was speechless at such a brazen lie. I stood there for a while, opening and closing my mouth helplessly, trying to make some semblance of sound. “Time, baby. Don't keep the Alpha of the Gray Wolf Clan waiting too long,” Jan decided, to help me get over the shock. “Dinner's getting cold,” he was silent for a moment and then asked snidely: “Do you need help?” “No!” I regained my voice immediately. I tried not to think about what kind of underwear he gave me, I started to get dressed. No sooner had I zipped up my dress than the werewolf reappeared on the doorstep. Jan stared at me, clearly judging me. He grinned and then put my patent shoes on my feet, which I'd obviously lost on the way from the living room to the shower. The man held out his hand in an inviting gesture and bowed his head in anticipation. “Come on, Rosya. We are really late.” How could he have the imagination to twist my name like that? My stomach tightened at the thought of Jan's imagination and skill. I grimaced and inwardly chastised myself for my weakness and lack of will. The man raised a questioning eyebrow, waiting for an explanation. I just lifted my chin proudly and made my way down the stairs with the most indifferent expression I could muster, ignoring the hand. It wasn't far from Jan's house to Rinat's. A five to seven-minute walk. So I couldn't help but grin as the werewolf opened the car door and forced me into the cabin. The tense silence between us only intensified as we both stepped over the threshold of Gray Wolf Clan Alpha's house. Jan stepped over the threshold and shamelessly pushed me inside with a single blow to my lower back. Rinat wasn't alone in the house. Vadim was there too. That didn't make me any happier. A sumptuous table, set with the help of the kitchen of the nearest Italian restaurant, awaited us. I said nothing, unable to bear the scrutiny of the first men of the Gray Wolf Clan. The fact that I reeked of Jan for at least a kilometer was clear to everyone. Rinat's caddy twitched occasionally, betraying his emotional state, and Vadim blushed with tension, but to my surprise, no one said a word. Dinner took two hours. The men didn't eat but discussed their work, defiantly ignoring my presence. I wanted to get up and leave, but Jan's hand under the table, resting on my thigh, wouldn't let me. I prayed to the moon to give me some hope that my personal hell would end eventually, but it got worse. “I called you several times today, Yaroslava,” Rinat said, staring at his plate without looking at me. “Did you lose your phone again?” I'd never lost a phone in my life, but I didn't argue. Especially since I'd lost this model for sure. Yesterday, when I left it at the bar in the Paradise Club. “Yes. I think so,” I said quietly. Not a few seconds after I'd said that, with the object in question lying on the white tablecloth, Jan took the phone out of his jacket pocket. “She left it…” he paused, forcing me to stop breathing, “in my car. The battery was dead.” The man seemed cool and calm currently, but my knees were shaking like a leaf in the wind. “Yeah, in the car,” Vadim grinned. Judging by the dirty grin on his face, he was clearly thinking about what he'd said in his own way… A way that was so dirty and did not promise me anything good from Rinat's side! Oh, for f**k's sake! “Yes. In my car,” Jan said coldly. I don't know what happened, but for some reason Vadim gave me an apologetic look, full of remorse and… Pity. Or was it just me? No longer willing to tolerate all this madness and innuendo, I said quietly but firmly, turning to Rinat: “We need to talk.” Jan's hand, resting on my leg, clenched into a fist. “Yes. We really need to talk,” the Alpha of the Gray Wolf Clan replied. “My office will be comfortable.” “Good,” Jan replied in my place. He got up from the table instead of me, and then he and Rinat just left the dining room without even thinking about me! What the hell is wrong with this werewolf? For the next half hour, I just sat there, trying to think of what to do next so I wouldn't embarrass myself anymore. But the ridiculousness of the situation really came to a head a little later when I got up from my chair. “You shouldn't go there now, Yaroslava,” Vadim said from behind me. I sucked in air noisily, aware that I was about to faint. The air in the house seemed saturated with the stench of madness and absurdity. ‌‌‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌‌ ‌‌ ‌‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ “f**k you all,” I said quietly. I wanted to get out. Just to get rid of everything that was bothering me and getting on my nerves. So I did it. Vadim's white Porsche Cayenne was back in full glory, beckoning me to continue with my plan of action. The only thing I hadn't considered were the two huge, hulking men who stepped out of the darkness and blocked my path. The werewolves were at least two meters tall, as tall as Rinat, and their shoulders were as strong as Rinat's, so it was clear from their appearance that they were not to be messed with. The familiar cut of their black suits over white shirts, and the fact that I was seeing them for the first time, clarified it that they were Jan's men. Both black-eyed, dark-haired. Black Wolves. “You should go back inside, Yaroslava,” the one on the right said. “OK,” I didn't argue, stepping down from the veranda. The werewolves' eyes flashed confused. “You should go back inside, Yaroslava,” the same werewolf said with pressure. “You're right. But I won't,” I explained politely. I didn't know why, but I wasn't afraid of the two men who physically resembled a linen closet. Since Jan had decided that I was his toy for the day, I knew for sure that neither of them would touch me, so I decided to take advantage of the situation. “Yaroslava!” came the voice of the second werewolf. “Please go back inside or Ian will be furious.” In a way, his words had worked. I didn't go any further, forgetting about the Porsche and the fact that I wanted to get out of here as soon as possible. ‌‌‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌‌ ‌‌ ‌‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ “I don't give a s**t about him!” I shouted. “Let him take a sedative if he can't control his ego! And if that doesn't work, there are plenty of whores around to serve him.” The bewilderment in the werewolves' eyes was replaced by confusion. I decided to continue my journey to the SUV and further freedom before they came to their senses. I even touched the handle of the car, but the heavy hand of one of the guards grabbed me wrist, preventing me from reaching the driver's seat. ‌‌‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌‌ ‌‌ ‌‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ A miscalculation. Did the consequences of breaking the unspoken rule of not touching a dominant wolf not impress them as much as the fact that I was about to drive away? Strange… “Get your hands off me,” I tried to regain sole possession of my hand. “In the house,” the werewolf said through clenched teeth. And dragged me back inside! Oh, you wolf! ‌‌‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌‌ ‌‌ ‌‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌‌ ‌‌ ‌‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌‌ ‌‌ ‌‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌‌ ‌‌ ‌‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌‌ ‌‌ ‌‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌‌ ‌‌ ‌‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌‌ ‌‌ ‌‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌‌ ‌‌ ‌‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌‌ ‌‌ ‌‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌‌ ‌‌ ‌‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌‌ ‌‌ ‌‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌‌ ‌‌ ‌‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌‌ ‌‌ ‌‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌‌ ‌‌ ‌‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌‌ ‌‌ ‌‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌‌ ‌‌ ‌‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌
