Chapter 2

Yaroslava's POV ‌‌‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌‌ ‌‌ ‌‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ Deep bass thundered through my dazed brain as soon as I stopped at the entrance and took in the surroundings. The bright glare of the laser show moved along the luxurious interior of the entertainment venue and its patrons in time to the sound of hard rock. I couldn't help myself and took a deep breath of the smell of nicotine and alcohol that permeated the atmosphere. I looked around the dance floor. Sweaty, heated bodies were writhing and rubbing against each other to the simple rhythm of the music. The main contingent were barely in their twenties. I turned my attention to the lounge area. Among the low-backed leather sofas was an older crowd. The men looked more reserved, less swaggering. And most of them were no longer alone. I took again, trying to find the safest place for me. The main hall was definitely not it. A heavy, wistful sigh escaped my lips and I made my way to the bar. I had to spend the bloody night somewhere! Every step I took felt like a lingering pain in my lower abdomen. Damn that lecherous male who thought he was on a par with the Alpha! A light, fleeting whiff of musky cardamom distracted me from my thoughts, and I stopped halfway. I sniffed and instinctively looked around for its owner, but the scent was lost among the many others. The air was the same again, holding nothing but disappointment. I shook my head to regain my composure. What the hell was I thinking? The alcohol and nicotine I'd come for were supposed to help me forget. At least I hoped so. “Good evening, darling,” a voice suddenly called out to me, forcing me back to reality. The man was behind me. Very close. I couldn't see him, but judging by the fumes of a week's worth of rum consumption, he was clearly not my candidate for a pleasant pastime. But I didn't get a chance to express my opinion. “Let's have a drink, darling?” the man continued. The 'flattering' epithet made me cringe in a fit of disgust. “Haven't you had enough?” I grinned back. Apparently, my tone wasn't aggressive enough because the man ignored the sentence and placed his palm on my shoulder with the obvious intention of pushing me forward. I wanted to go there myself, but not in such company, so I didn't even think about moving. “You've got a second to take your hands off me,” I spontaneously switched to a low growl, warning the potential victim of my bad mood. “Unless you want to end up with broken fingers, sweetheart,” I sneered. The warning was in vain as the fingers holding me tightened. In a way, I even mentally thanked the average prick who thought he was the center of the universe, where everyone would go at his beck and call. The agony of lust that had been tormenting my poisoned body faded instantly, giving way to rage, filled with a single desire to put the arrogant dandy in his place. And if for the last hour I'd been panting with a burning desire to f**k anything that moved, now the numbness was gone. “I think the girl made herself clear,” another male voice interjected from behind me. The deep, murmuring tones of the baritone made me shiver. I caught a familiar whiff of spicy musk and cardamom in the air. Riding a wave of new sensations, I closed my eyes and breathed in the stranger's scent. But not for long. For now, I was guided by reason rather than my baser instincts. My shoulder was free. I made use of it immediately and walked towards the bar without turning around. The vibration of the smartphone in my pocket hit my hip and I had to work hard to keep my gait steady. Even this artificial influence was enough to make everything in my lower abdomen twist into a tight knot. As a result, when I answered the phone, I could hardly stop myself from sending the caller to the most uncomfortable place. “Hello, Rinat,” I said hoarsely into the receiver. There were no free chairs, but in my condition I could hardly sit in one place, so I chose the far corner of the bar, where I stayed standing in relative solitude. “Yaroslava, where are you?” The voice sounded rather impolite. I couldn't keep my irritation to myself. “In paradise,” I said sullenly. “What's wrong?” I didn't mean to be impertinent, and the club was called PARADISE, but… If Rinat had been able to put his friend in his place in time, there would have been no need to ask such questions. And after what I had been through today, my tone was justified. Besides, he asked me to stay in town. “Yaroslava!” The werewolf's growl didn't bode well. “Wherever you are now, come home immediately!” An Alpha doesn't tolerate disobedience. And even if I had a special position in his pack, an Alpha was still an Alpha. But that still didn't explain why I had to go back to the place where I was waiting for a horny Beta, which I couldn't resist properly. “Is something wrong?” Rinat sniffed quietly for a while and didn't answer right away. “I said come home, Yaroslava!” the bridegroom repeated. He pissed me off even more! “Mm-hmm,” I snapped back, having no intention of obeying such an order. “Thanks to Vadim, I now feel no worse than a marching cat! Or do you mind if everyone f***s me who wants to, not just you?” Yes, it sounded like a challenge. No werewolf in the Clan would even think of doing that. But I'm not like them. A weary sigh sounded in the receiver. Rinat knew very well that coercion would never work with me. “I'll talk to Vadim. It won't happen again,” the man said quickly. “Are there only people in there?” “Yes. That's why I came here,” I reassured him. “I don't want any trouble,” I assured him sincerely. After all, he was almost the only one who accepted me for who I was. I should have been grateful and shown him at least a little respect in return. Even if I wanted the opposite. “Are you sure you're okay?” Rinat asked cautiously. For the umpteenth time that evening, I caught the intoxicating scent of the stranger who'd interceded on my behalf is not long ago. The scent was so enticing that it was impossible to resist. I closed my eyes and allowed myself to dissolve emotionally into that spicy trail. I leaned back a little, sinking into a pleasant calm. And I didn't notice immediately that the owner of the scent was standing behind me, my head resting on his shoulder. “Yaroslava?” exclaimed Rinat excitedly because I had forgotten to answer. Meanwhile, the stranger leaned against my neck and noisily sucked in air. My body immediately responded to this simple action with a wave of intense, almost unbearable desire. I don't know how I managed not to lunge at the man behind me, ignoring everyone and everything around me. “I'll be back home soon,” I replied quietly. Holding the phone was the most pointless thing I could do at the moment. “See you tomorrow, kitten,” Rinat said, goodbye. But I almost didn't hear him. The phone slipped out of his hands, falling onto the polished surface of the mahogany counter. “So, Yaroslava,” the man said in a low whisper, placing his palms on my waist and slowly sliding his hands down to my hips, pulling me towards him. “Nice to meet you, Yaroslava.” The stranger said my name very slowly, as if in anticipation. The barely audible huskiness in his tone made my body react to his voice immediately. A wave of warmth travelled from the tips of my toes to somewhere near my solar plexus. And it didn't really matter if I still had to deal with what Vadim had given me or not. I was already pretty sure I wanted this man. Like I'd never wanted anyone before. Even if it wasn't allowed. “Yara,” he repeated my name. The man's hands slid over my stomach and up to my breasts, squeezing lightly. The searing agony of desire rose in me again, demanding that I extinguish the flames of lust. I mentally tried to blame it on a cocktail of aphrodisiacs and drugs, although I knew it wasn't that. It wasn't even that my burgeoning passion wasn't unrequited — I could feel his reaction so clearly through the thin chiffon of my skirt and the thick material of my jeans. I couldn't stand it any longer, pressing even tighter against the object of my desire. An answering growl and a light kiss on the junction of my neck and upper arm were a sweet reward. A hand caressing my chest moved to my throat, cutting off the oxygen for a moment. The other moved lower, pressing between my legs. “Oh, my God…” came out of my mouth without a sound. Wanting increasingly in the shortest possible time, I turned sharply to face the stranger, forgetting everything that had happened in my life up to that moment. And then I sank into the darkness of his eyes. His eyes were so greedy and lascivious, so hypnotizing, that I even forgot how to breathe. But not for long. Because in a second I realized… How screwed up I was. And judging by the mood of the werewolf in front of me, I'd screwed up really, badly. And I should have realized right away that a normal person would never have heard my name spoken by Rinat on the phone! “Yaroslava,” the stranger repeated. I just turned him on myself! And to the full program! I expressed my desire. I told him how much I liked his smell. And moreover, I provoked him with physical contact! Oh, stupid! The desire for a one-off adventure in the form of light foreplay was quickly replaced by the desire to hide somewhere where no one would find me. Except that the bar was at my back and my body were already in his hands. Panic gripped my consciousness. All my thoughts were focused on finding a plan to escape. Even though the werewolf in front of me was in every way the center of a woman's dream. A short-sleeved black t-shirt hugged his broad shoulders and a pile of muscles, sparking clear fantasies in my long-suffering brain. His dark hair, uncomplicated and trendy, beckoned me to grab it with my fingers and not let go until its owner made me die of orgasm. “I belong to the Alpha of the Gray Wolf Clan!” I shouted, hoping to gain freedom with my statement. ‌‌‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌‌ ‌‌ ‌‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌‌ ‌‌ ‌‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌‌ ‌‌ ‌‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌‌ ‌‌ ‌‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌‌ ‌‌ ‌‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌‌ ‌‌ ‌‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌‌ ‌‌ ‌‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌‌ ‌‌ ‌‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌
