THE WATCHMAN

A New War

Julio sat in his room still contemplating his next move, he knew what he had to do to regain his status. This was an opportunity of a lifetime. Being given an assignment by the Lord himself! Failure was not an option.

"Will his royal laziness care to share that which is bothering his mind with us his subjects?" A voice jolted Julio out of his deep thoughts.

Sergio Angel stood at the doorway staring furiously at him. "Just because you have the opportunity to share a few moments with the lord doesn't excuse you of your duties, Julio, you are still my subordinate and you must do as I say!" Sergio Angel said in a condescending tone.

"Yes sir!" Julio responded

Sergio Angel hissed and turned to walk away. "Better get back to your duty post watchman!" he said to Julio as he walked away.

"It's only a matter of time and you will lick my feet!" Julio whispered from under his breath, as he put on his leather jacket and walked out of the room.

Julio needed to be careful, he could not afford to be fighting any unnecessary battles with Sergio Angel at this moment.

Sergio Angel for all his faults could prove very useful in the future.

*Julio! Julio!! Where are you?"

Sergio Aguero shouted from a distance.

"Sir, here I am". Julio said rushing in.

" You heard Lord Murillos' words yesterday about finding Antonio de Castillo. Tina Gyang is already on route to our location, but I need to know what you discussed with Lord Murillo". Sergio Angel asked looking directly into Julio's eyes.

"Whatever it is cannot be that grave that you won't keep such a secret from me?" Sergio Angel pressed him.

"Okay Sir, Lord Murillo wants me to kill Antonio de Castillo! he instructed me to do that before you and Tina Gyang can get to him". Julio replied looking at the floor as he spoke.

" What the f**k! The Lord wants to use us to play his little game, and later he'll pin the blame on us". Sergio Angel said angrily. "No! it can't happen! it won't happen! I know what the price of failure is in the League of Watchmen and I won't fail! I can't fail! we are going to embark on this mission by ourselves and that is before Tina can do what she is being brought here for. I want you to get me Antonio's last location to track his bracelet. I'm sure they must have deactivated it at this time but let's see no his last location before it was deactivated". He instructed Julio.

it was about 6 in the evening when Tina Gyang and her team arrived.

She was a flamboyant brown-skinned woman, A smallish but very stylish woman. She wore black leather tight pants and a black top with a brown furry jacket on top.

She always wore a smile on her face and hardly frowned, but she had a reputation of being brutal and a slave driver. One thing no one could dispute was that she was good at what she did.

She was neither a watchman nor a timekeeper, but she had been a valuable asset to both sects over the years. this had made her almost indispensable the both the League of Watchmen and Timekeepers alike.

" Good day Lard and Dachess Marillo", Tina said in a strong Ghanaian/English accent as she walked into the room.

" How was your trip?" Lord Murillo asked as he kissed hers on the hand and Mr.s Murillo hugged her.

Could that be my little locator? Tina asked gesturing in the direction of Antonio Jr. He was playing around the room oblivious of the new entrant into the room. "Yes he is", beautiful little thing isn't he? Duchess Morillo replied

" All I need is just a drap of his blahd, and I will use his DNA to trace any direct relation of his anywhere in the world!" She proudly announced

"That's great Miss Tina". Lord Murillo replied

"But you wouldn't have to go through the stress of flying all the way here if you would just give us the technology you use for this". he said with a mischievous smile on his face.

" If I told you my secret then I'm of no use to you anymore and that means I'm of no use alive am I? she smartly replied.

They shared a laugh and then sat down to discuss their business.

A few minutes later Sergio Angel burst into the room suddenly. "Oh! sorry to barge in on your meeting my lord and Lady Tina" he said pretending to be startled at the sight of their meeting.

"Not at all Sergio, you can come in," Lord Murillo said "I was just about to send from you".

Sergio Angel gave a wry smile then took a seat and sat beside Tina. She then detailed her plans on how to capture both Antonio and Susan.

Unknown to Lord Murillo and Tina Sergio Angel was busy recording the whole conversation.

Suddenly the whole building began to shake, things around them began to fall to the ground and then there was a loud blast like that of an atomic bomb, everyone scampered for safety.

Lord Murillo picked up the TV remote and switched on the TV and there was breaking news that detailed the explosion taking place in the middle of the Pacific Ocean and a mysterious black hole appeared and was sucking ships and vessels into it everything was being dragged into the black hole.

" What sort of occurrence is this?" Lord Murillo asked. "How I wish the Oraha was here, he may have been able to explain this".

At the very moment he was speaking, the security system detected several flying coming in their Direction.

Security drones picked up a helicopter belonging to Becky the reckoner, coming to them at a very high speed. And chasing after her were flying wild beasts, but they had human faces.

" Get ready for battle!" Lord Morillo ordered as he went to get his swords. Duchess Murillo also got her bow and arrows ready, as well as the other Watchmen who went around getting their weapons ready.

They all converged on the roof of the building. They could now see Becky's helicopter heading in their Direction at a very high speed.

Before the helicopter could land safely one of the beasts caught up with the helicopter and crashed into the helicopter, this caused the pilot to lose control of the helicopter, and the crash-landed into the field just before the building.

The hideous creatures, realizing that the helicopter had crashed, focused their attention on the people on the rooftop and headed straight for them. They attacked in their hundreds.

Some of the beasts had human hands but had claws like that of an eagle, some others had hot lava dripping from their mouths with the ability to spit it in any direction, others had human faces but with teeth like those of a lion.

Lord Murillo, his wife duchess Murillo and the other Watchmen prepared for battle.

Suddenly a long slimy tongue wrapped itself around the neck of one of the Watchmen and pulled him off the roof towards one of the beasts. This prompted the other Watchmen holding rifles to begin to shoot at the creatures.

Duchess Murillo also began firing her arrows, hitting every one of her targets. She hit some in the eyes and others in the head, even when they tried to evade the arrows, the arrows would somehow curve and still, hit their intended target. She seemed to somehow be controlling the arrows to their targets.

When the beasts eventually got to the building, they began to tear the Watchmen apart, biting into their necks and slashing their throats with their long claws.

Blood was being spilled everywhere, Watchmen began to use their swords to fight, both man and beasts lost their lives. Whenever a beast was slain, it would revert to its original human form whether male or female.

Lord Murillo engaged in a m******e of his own, he seemed to have Super Speed as his sharp swords sliced through the beasts like a hot knife slicing through butter.

Julio on the other side of the rooftop was surrounded by four beasts which all attacked him at the same time. He had two pistols in his hands and bided his time as they charged toward him.

When they were close enough, he released four quick shots in the direction of two of the beasts, hitting both of them in the head.

The corner of his left eye caught a tongue coming in his direction, and he tried to evade it, firing a shot at the leg of the beast before firing it in the head.

Suddenly Julio was swept off his feet as the tongue of another beast wrapped itself around his legs, it jumped up in the air ready to pounce on him and tear him apart.

Then out of nowhere Lord Murillo appeared and cut the tongue off his legs and then beheaded the beast as it was about to land he then slid under the second beast with his sword pointed upwards so that it caught the underbelly of the beasts spilling its got. unknown to him it was one of the lava spitting creatures

Lord Murillos' slide stopped right at the mouth of the beast and with its last breath, it emptied the hot lava right onto Lord Murillos' fave. But before the lava could touch his face he suddenly teleported and reappeared above the beasts. And then stabbed it in the head.

Julio was shell-shocked at what he just saw, but he had no time to waste, so he continued with his battle with the other beasts.

Meanwhile, Sergio Angel was nowhere to be found during this battle. He was instructed to lead Tina Gyang and her men as well as Antonio Jr to a safe room that was located across the field from the building they were in.

They took the motorbikes parked in the garage of the house. The sound of their motorbikes attracted some of the flying creatures as they sped off in the direction of the safe room. The creatures took off in their Direction chasing hotly after them, more creatures were attracted and began to fly in their direction.

They rode as fast as they could on their bikes, but their speed was no match for the flying beasts, one by one the beasts picked up Tina Gyangs men from their bikes and shred them to pieces while also eating them in the air.

Tina Gyang was on a bike of her own, she was riding at a very high speed. Suddenly one of the bikes of her men who was picked up by the flying beasts dropped right in front of her causing her to collide with the bike, the impact send her sprawling to the ground.

Sergio Angel was riding with Antonio Jr straddled across him. He was behind her and he could have slowed down to pick her up but instead of coming to her aid, he sped past her.

She screamed in horror and turned herself to face the sky seeing one of the beasts making a beeline for her she lay face-up waiting for her sure death.

Antonio and Susan are safely hidden in an underground bunker somewhere in the arctic along with the other men of the Timekeeper resistance. They were safely watching the events unfold, but couldn't help worry about their son's safety.

They knew they would have to forfeit their safety if they were going to see their son alive again.

Cases of these beastly attacks were reported all over the world. The Americas, China, Africa, Australia all reported cases of missing people who are later confirmed to have turned into wild beasts who were attacking other humans.

These beasts reportedly came out of the black hole in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. They were supposedly people who were on the vessels or ships that were sucked into the hole.

"We have to do something!" Susan said in horror as she began getting ready to go out. "I can't let you go alone". Antonio said while also getting up.

" No! you can't go out like this". Susan said trying to persuade him not to go out with her. "Of what use would my life b if my son is dead?" Antonio asked her.

"We will go with you wherever you go". one of the Timekeepers said as the others stood with him.

Within a few minutes, everyone was dressed and fully armed they opened the Underground tunnel and came out to a place full of ice.

When every man had successfully come out they closed the entrance to the tunnel and began to head towards their vehicles.

suddenly one of the beasts attacked them picking one of the men in the air and tearing him the pieces.

Antonio then teleported and appeared at the back of the next creature, driving his sword straight through the neck of the beast, and so he did for the next and the next and the next.

Susan whistled and Mi Fuego flew over and began to roast the other incoming beasts, but there were too many for him.

They landed on his body and began to claw at his skin and bite every place they could.

Mi Fuego let out a loud Shrek of pain as he tried to shrug them off.

Antonio quickly teleported to Mi Fuegos back' and he took to flight. Antonio and Mi Fuego battled with the creatures in the air.

Arrrgh! He screamed as one of the creatures sunk its teeth into his left arm, he quickly angle his sword to stab the creature from the neck, with the pointed end of the sword coming out of the top of its head.

He then looked to the ground and saw a new set of creatures not previously reported heading straight in the direction of Susan and the Timekeepers. He could count about twenty-five of them.

" Susan watch out!" he screamed from above.

Susan and the men turned to see the incoming herd and they began to run towards the tunnel.

Antonio flew Mi Fuego to land, blocking off the creatures and Susan and the Timekeepers. All the creatures gave a loud shriek in anger as they began to charge at Antonio and the dragon.

Tina closed her eyes expecting her imminent death but rather than feel the claws or teeth of the beasts, she heard a loud Shrek from all the beasts who had stopped simultaneously and then began to away in the direction of the Pacific, as if they were answering a general call, leaving Tina on the floor half confused and half relieved that she was still alive.

She then turned to give Sergio Angel a devilish look.

Julio who was exhausted was relieved to see the beasts fly away but he couldn't take his mind off what he had witnessed in the middle of the battle.

He had learned about a few cases of teleportation but had never seen one most of these cases were before his lifetime.

The only case that was rumored about was that of Antonio de Castillo!
