I stayed in the office, working for the rest of the day.
William hadn't tried to come in but at around seven that evening, Philip and Bri came in to tell me they were leaving. Philip gave me a hug and kiss on the cheek and Bri did the same.
Bri's belly bump was barely showing and from the look on Philip's face when he looks at her, I knew she had told him recently about her pregnancy. I smile at her and give her a hug, squeezing tight and telling her that I'd text her later.
After the couple left, I sat back down at my desk. I had been working on the manuscripts for hours and was almost done. I was about to get back to work when there was a knock on the office door and I watched as it opens slowly.
William steps in, looking anywhere but at me and my heart sinks to the floor.
