Thirty-Nine The sudden increase in noise outside the lab caused Hannah to rush to the door, heart racing. ‘Are they back?’ She latched hold of Barrett’s arm. He’d designated himself her unofficial bodyguard and spent most of his waking hours keeping watch by the door. The only time he left her alone was to go to the kitchen to get them both a meal or when she was in her room.
