Jackson forced his voice to remain even as he explained yet again his reason for abandoning his Ward. Geoff, when called upon, had backed up Jackson’s claims but with no better success. This time around they were explaining their actions to General Butcher via a video conference call. Due to the instability of the communication network, this was the first time they’d been able to provide a secure channel.
Not that the general seemed interested in what Jackson had to say. Butcher’s eyes were focused on several sheafs of paper in front of him.
