Chapter 10 Shopping Spree

Avery's POV

I'm mortified by my now Ex-husband but at the same time, completely turned on by Elijah. He went full defensive mode for me and to say it was enticing was a complete understatement. Him shoving my Ex around and threatening him because of his actions towards me, got myself all hot and bothered.

Elijah leads us back to his car and I just can't take my eyes off of him. I'm trying to not get all riled up and enthralled by his every action he makes, because there are other things I need to take care of.. but I can't think about anything but him at the moment.

We get to his car as he opens the door for me so I climb in saying a soft "Thank you." I watch him smile as he circles around to the driver's side of the vehicle, just climbing in.

"Man can you believe that guy? He is lucky I'm a gentleman or I would have beat the s**t out of him for how he treated you!" He shuts the door once he gets in, looking over at me as I take advantage of his close proximity and his unsuspecting nature. I crash my lips to his, catching him completely offguard. But he doesn't object at all, just closing his eyes and kissing me back until I break the kiss. I don't move though.. I just stay close as he softly asks. "What was that for?"

"Just thank you for being you and helping me. You don't know what it means to me." I say into his lips as I peck them softly before pulling myself away to my dismay.. As much as I want to do more I'm not doing it in the car that's parked outside my old house with my Ex-husband and very nosey neighbor nearby.

"Well I'm so happy I could help you out." He replies smiling his iconic knee-weakening smile, it makes my legs turn to jello, but thankfully I'm already sitting.

"Let's go get you some clothes to wear since he destroyed everything of yours." He puts the car into gear so we take off before I even have a chance to answer.

"You don't have to do all this boring shopping with me.. I know I can't remember a lot, but one thing I do know is that men don't like to shop with women." I reply, staring over at him as he drives to who knows where.

"I like spending time with you and I don't care what we are doing. I do declare that I want to help you pick out bikinis, lingerie but mostly bras and panties." He exclaims as I scoff and slap his arm playfully. "Well if your doing that with me, then you have to help with everything else too.. so that means you're stuck with me all the rest of the day." I declare and this makes him smile. "Sounds perfect then." He says pulling up to a mall and parking.

"It does, doesn't it." I say softly, then glancing over at him. He winks at me, causing me to blush as I open the door and getting out. He is out of the car and to my side in no time at all, taking my hand into his and it doesn't bother me one bit.

He leads me around to all of these different stores so we spend the bigger chunk of an afternoon buying clothing for me, involving anything and everything I need since I literally have nothing now, so I'm starting from scratch. We fill his little car up to the brim with my bags, but luckily making sure there was enough room for the two of us.

So after we both get into the car closing the doors behind us. "Wow, that was so much crap.. thanks again Eli for helping me find everything I need." I say to him as he smiles at me for a moment before I decide to add. "Now I just need to figure out where I'm staying the night at to take all this crap there. Do you know anything about the hotels by your place?" I wonder because I don't want to overstep my bounderies with him and would love to still be close to him if I can help it.

He looks at me shaking his head, opening his mouth then shutting it. "Eli are you ok? Is there something you want to say?" I ask him curiously as he nods and suggests, "Well.. I was hoping if you didn't mind.. maybe you would want to stay with me for as long as you want really.. no time limit."

I find myself biting my lip.. "You know, that would make us seem as if we were together.. do you even want that, let alone can handle it? Because if I bring all my crap from today into there, then it won't be easy for me to leave, meaning I won't be leaving tomorrow I hope you know." I inform him as he smiles again at me as I watch him inch closer, so I inch closer following his lead.

"That sounds amazing really.. I don't mind one bit.. and I already told you I would gladly claim you as mine.. I don't know if you realized it or not but you called me your man to your Ex-husband earlier.." I smile at that because I do remember calling him that in the heated moment, arguing with my ex so I retort almost confidently. "I knew exactly what I was saying."

He wraps his hand around the back of my head, pulling me in as we press our lips together, kissing with a hunger that I don't know if I can control. I can feel my insides heating up as my heart races, while I just attack his lips. The car is really getting heated up with us.. Only accompanied by the sounds of kissing and panting as we just paw at each others aching bodies.

Until we are brought out of our sensually heated moment, because of my phone ringing so loudly next to us. There is only person who has this number that I know of so I answer without looking, putting the call on speaker. "Hello?" As I continue to peck his lips lightly feathering kisses across his full lips.

"Hey girl, it's me Stevie.. sorry if you're busy." She says as I quickly reply. "Yes I was in the middle of something.. much needed.. and so wanted.. why hun? What's up?"

"Oh ok well you have to come in tomorrow for a little bit.." She says to me as run my hands through his hair answering her back. "But I still don't know what I'm doing because I don't have my memories and I haven't sold my shares yet.. so why tomorrow?" I ask curiously as I watch Elijah relax in my hold just enjoying my tantalizing touch.

"Well.. curiously your partners came in today to ask me for your paperwork with the company because it's coming on 6 months without you and that's the limit they have set for an owner not participating at all with the company before letting other buy the shares.. well I of course told them you were here yesterday and they were completely shocked.. they were talking about you as if they thought you were dead.. I told them you weren't dead and they looked strained, so they demanded that you be in to work a full day tomorrow and I told them about how you don't have your memories and they loosened up a little but still demanded a meeting with you tomorrow afternoon." She explains as I think about that information for a moment just mulling over the details. Running my hands through his hair.. Just massaging his head is helping me think suprisingly enough.

"So they didn't know I was in a coma?" I ask as I feel Elijah's lips feathering lightly down the curve of my neck. "F*#k." I say outloud loving his touch as I hear, "What?.. um I don't think they knew at all and never contacted me once about your status, after I told them you were in a wreck.. why do you ask?"

"I'm just suspicious of everyone since I don't know anyone like I should right now.. or like I want to." I say in a sexy tone as I instantly turn. throwing my leg over his waist, sliding myself into a straddle over him as he really starts to attack my neck. So I lean back only slightly giving him more access to everything.

"Well it will help once we take care of the divorce stuff." She states to me as I gasp as the feeling of his hands trailing underneath my shirt making me humm in response as I close my eyes still enjoying all that I can.

"I already took care of the divorce papers. And my Ex destroyed all of my clothes so I just spent all afternoon at stores getting anything and everything I might need." I say holding the phone to the side as I grab his face with my open hand and kissing it passionately causing him to moan out lightly but just enough for her to hear.

"Are you ok Avery?.. Oh and if you need a place to stay at, with all of your new stuff, so your not stuck at a hotel, then you can stay with me.. I don't want you to be alone." She states to me as I break the kiss smirking down at him as I wink. "I won't be alone or at a hotel." I vaguely inform as she asks quickly. "So who are you staying with?" She asks with confusion in her voice. "Remember that quote I stated to you and you said that I should have someone like that in my life right now.. well I didn't want someone like him, I wanted him.. so I'm with him and we have um.. really hit it off and he has asked me to stay with him.. he is also the one who helped me get the divorce papers signed since my Ex was being a douchbag and we just got done at the store getting me everything I need." I explain as much as I can to her, as she asks, "Who would that be? And have you made sure to inform him about your condition so there are no surprises later on?"

I giggle at that as I shrug my shoulders. "There was no need for me to tell him because he was was the one who told me.. because he is the man that helped me with my condition.. he is a nurse and knows more about me then I do at the moment." I exclaim as she laughs on the other end of the call.

"Makes sense.. Are you sure he is a good man? and not trying to take advantage of you?" She asks as I look down at him while he awaits for an answer from me as well.

"There is something about him that I can't explain.. he just makes me feel so safe and comfortable.. so if he does screw me over it will be a suprise to me.. because he is not giving me any signs that I should be suspicious of or distrust at all.. I can honestly say I trust him." I state as I watch his smile grow into an ear to ear smile as I gently touch his cheek.

"Ok well if you need any help at all, just let me know and I'm there and for tomorrow bring the divorce papers and yourself for the meeting at 1.. thanks boss lady see you tomorrow.. and try to have a good night." She says to me as I smile saying sweetly, "Thank you for your concern and you will be the first I call if he f*#ks this up.. see you tomorrow sweets." I hang up the call looking down at Elijah who has his arms tightly wrapped around my waist.

"So you feel safe with me huh? Does that have anything to do with my muscles?" He asks playfully as I humm outloud shrugging my shoulders before saying.. "That might have something to do with it.. but It's mostly because of the fact that you have been the only one by my side every single day since I woke up and I can honestly say, that your probably the only person I trust besides Stevie now."

"Good to know." He purrs out in his baritone of a voice before we hear my stomach growling between us.

"I'm sorry.. but I guess I'm hungry." I say softly as he chuckles retorting, "Well give me a chance to cook for you, like you did for me and I bet I could easily win you over with those skills!" He retorts wiggling his eyebrows at me as I smile and nod, liking that idea a lot. "Ok deal.. You're letting me take over your place anyways so why not.. but the moment you want me out you better tell me.. So I'm not overstepping bounderies." I declare making sure he knows, but he scoffs right back, mocking me with that same sound before stating. "What if I don't ever want you to leave?" I giggle smiling at him as I press my lips to his retorting. "One could only wish.. but I bet you wouldn't last that long with me. Especially since this isn't how most relationships start."

"Well I don't care how most relationships start I just care about how ours is starting.. so.. Game on.. challenge accepted.." He kisses me back as I flip back over off of him and into my seat making him groan as he quickly adjusts himself in his pants.

"Sorry I liked all that way too much. Now let's get back to my place so I can pamper you.. Making you never want to leave." He replies humorously making me smile.
