POV: Millie The heat presses down like a weight, and I'm grateful for the shade and a chance to rest. The spot Han picked is perfect. The pond water sits still and clear, reflecting a postcard blue sky. The tree overhead spreads wide enough to block the worst of the midday sun. A few flies buzz around our heads, annoying but harmless. Otherwise the whole place feels quiet and easy, asking nothing of you. Han settles into this landscape like he belongs here, and I'm starting to understand why. The horses graze nearby in the tall grass, their tails swishing. Han hobbled them before letting them loose, and they seem content. I find myself grazing too.
